Eric from LC allowed me to test his new line of pads, and I'm stoked! The line is made up for 4 pads: orange, blue, white, and black. I've done all testing do far with my Flex 3401, but plan to test with my rotary and traditional DA. The pads as of now are 6 1/4" with a 5.5" loop.

In terms of comparison, the orange is considered a "heavy cut" pad, and that it does. It cuts better than the Cyan HT pad, but just as important, it finishes great for the huge amount of cut! So far, it seems to be much more durable than the Cyan pad. Awesome!!!

Next it is the blue pad, which is considered a "light cutting" pad. Compared to the current LC orange light cutting pad, it definitely cuts better, and finishes very well! Awesome!

The white pad is considered a "polishing pad". Compared to the current LC current white polishing pad, it definitely has more cut, but finishes nearly the same. Awesome!

The black pad is actually the same foam as the current black pad which we all know is great.

In a nutshell, LC has improved their pads with this line in having more cut, yet still finishing good. They all seem to be very durable, too!! I think this is what we all look for in foam pads as the evolve. This line has thoroughly impressed me this far! I will add some pictures from my next detail this weekend.

Why is LC changing the color scheme? It's already confusing to a beginner as it is. It got even more confusing with the introduction of the HT pads. And now this? What's their reasoning for providing different color schemes? Is this a new line of pads or is it a flat pad with different dimensions?

Good news to hear Mark. I am assuming these new pads are open cell pads and the flat versions?

Very cool, Mark. All these colors can get confusing.....wait till the new tye-dye line comes out! :D

So the heavy cut does better than the Cyan HT... and I assume doesn't flake apart as quickly either?

How does the cut and finish compare to the MF pads?

Mark, would you recommend getting the LC hydro techs? looking to buy some today

This is a new separate line. Different than the normal lake Country line-up.

Was going to place an order but will hold back to get these, have heard also there is hand knitted wool ones in the pipeline.

Mark, are you at liberty to post some pics of these new pads?

Thanks for sharing your findings BTW buddy!

Charlie,

Yes, the heavy cut does cut better than the Cyan, Just as important, they do not flake apart. So far, they seem to be much more durable.

I really like how the HT's perform. However, the Cyan pad is not as durable as other pads.

I've played around with these too but didn't know we could talk about it on the forums yet. :D

Did you get the new Foamed Wool one too, Mark?

Great stuff Mark. Any indication on when these will be released ?

Got it, but haven't busted out the rotary yet. :D

What are your thoughts on the foam, Rasky?

I need to do some more testing with them still...I really haven't done much testing with them yet and the little bit of testing I have done was on some wicked soft paint from my test panels....I could literally sink my fingernail into the paint!

I've been working with them as well Mark. I'll post my thoughts after a bit more use as I agreed to do with Eric.

Thanks for your patience Eric!

Very cool! I'm down for testing these out Eric if you're still feeling generous. :)
