I've tried every "blank" on the market and this is the best!

It really bothers me when reviewers claim every product of whatever kind on the market and claim this one is best.You have tried EVERYTHING on the market ,really???Who possibly has the time or resources to try everything?
Yes this is a rant,but I'm sure many of you can agree on this!

Your thoughts on this fellow AGs?
 
Most people in the world (not those on detailing forums) think that the products they see on the shelf at Pep Boys are all of the products in the world. Read the reviews here and you'll see some pretty fair and objective reviews.
 
I think you're not reading the reviews that closely. I don't think many people say every product is the best, but they can say it is one of the best or a great product. Seems like you are nitpicking a bit there.
 
I have learned to put more weight and belief when a "senior" member either does, or comments on a specific review. That is when I really pay close attention. In life, and especially car detailing...experience REALLY counts.
 
I don't think I've ever seen a review in which someone said it was the best . best out of the couple that they have experience with yes. there are many people here in this forum that know their stuff . I look forward to their reviews . it enable me to not buy junk that doesn't hold it's own and most particularly not waste my money on said products. keep the reviews coming . if members here don't agree with reviews they are gladly able to post their opinion .

Especially when a product has been reformulated, and or, if the reviews seem to be going against popular opinion. I believe it was Matt or Killer Wheels comments on Armor All Products that lead me to the autoparts store to revisit this product line.
Particular for me this can be said of the Optimum line.
 
i love cars shows , professional organized or just forum groups , everybody is smart there.
try tell one that that X product is not good or is something better ... :xyxthumbs:


about companies , of course they will market to sell their products , is something normal this days , look at fast foods , people get cancer and hearth attach from that food and they are still in business.
but hey ... you are the one with money and the choice, use it wisely

Of course thats the best in my opinion! :D We all have our personal favorites and each use our own methods and preferences. So just because someone says that product X is the best shouldn't be held against them if they give a good explination as to why they feel that way. I myself have found some great products while others do not like that specific product at all. Does it make one person right or wrong??? NO!!! We are all individuals and like/dislike a product for a reason or reasons. So when someone gives a review on a product and claims it is the best, you need to take into consideration the claims as to why this individual feels this way and you also need to make sure that the individual did a fair and honest review while not being influenced in any way other than his/her own personal honest judgement!

It is a rant and maybe I'm nitpicking ,but I've seen the "this is THE BEST" on several occasions while reading product reviews here on AG!

However that is not to discredit those who know their stuff,I know there are many that do.

Ex:

This is the best product on the market for protecting glass. Its super durable and easy to use also.(Aquapel)

I have to say that this is by far the best carnuba wax out there. Cost is cheap, provides excellent durability, and leaves an amazing shine!!.

THE BEST WAX EVER MADE ON THE MARKET. BUT YOU GOT TO MAKE SURE WERE EVER YOU PUT IT YOU GOT TO MAKE SURE ITS SUPER CLEAN OR IT IS SEALED IN FOR MONTHS TILL IT WEARS OFF.

this is the best wax by far! nothing sticks to the car after treated! dont even have to dry, just do 55 and its dry!

@ 66 years old I have used them all.This wax beats them all for durabilty and deep shine,none better I have found !

Simply the best durable wax on the market. The looks is gives are great, is very durable and easy to use.

I have tried probably every sealent & wax out there including some very expensive ones. I always come back to Klasse. It is easy to apply and easy to come off. It does not stain moldings or trim. It can be used on windows too. It leaves an incredible shine that last months if not more. This is the best, period!

YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER WAX

I do see the point you are trying to make; it can get played out. I have never had a sense that reviews have been played-out on this forum. In fact I think many reviewers try to make as broad a comparison as they can; which helps improve transparency. I tend to take the whole review into account; not just, "this is the best" commentary. Reviews are relative to people's surroundings, experiences, test subjects and approaches used in any review. I take the whole review into account; what is said and what is not said. Then, I make my own judgement based on the information provided. I would surmise many other forum members do the same.

Take a look at Amazon and see how many people give glowing reviews for staplers. Is there really a "best stapler"? C'mon..... ;-)

I see your point but wondering.....were these descriptions made in reviews or were these just comments made in thread somewhere? Links to the reviews would help. I agree with you, if these statements are typical made in all the reviews, we'd all see thru it. I thinks the reviews are totally helpful and never thought otherwise.

These were taken from ratings section from individual products.Mostly Collinite 845 & 476.I was not referring to reviews posted on the forums,there are many great reviews posted there.

It's just the reviews that read like the title in my OP that bother me.I really can't place no value or credibility to someone saying tried them all, this is best.

All in all I have much more to praise than to be dissatisfied with a far as anything AG goes.That was just one thing that bothered me a bit.So I decided I'd vent and se if anyone felt the same.

I'm not even mad though!
 
Collinite 845 seems to be good though.. Alot if top notch guys here use it.

my favorite is people giving their advice on a product from reviews they have read
 
I understand your point, and try to get a feel for who has had experience trying many products, and use their advice vs. someone relatively new.

I don't think this is necessarily a big deal, but like any other situation it could be abused in numerous ways. I don't know many people who have avoided saying, "I heard about this product on xxx, maybe you should try it.", to a friend of family member in a sticky situation.

It is not a huge deal if someone says Collinite 845 looks great on top of BFWD simply because they believe the hundreds of other posts on the topic. There are enough people visiting the board to auto-correct those that may go a bit too far.

Full disclosure: Depending on the question or comments I will promote what I have read to others and other times I will refrain from responding in favor of those that DO have the experience. It helps me confirm my thoughts as I evolve in this world of auto detailing. To me, learning is a process where participation is mandatory. Even if it means repeating what has been done in the past by others when the hands-on experience is not there yet.
 
I just don't see the benefit in someone giving advice that hasn't used the product. Most of us here research the hell out of what we want to buy and have probably read the same review they are basing their experience off. It doesn't keep me up at night or anything.
 
CEE DOG has tried and done a review on almost every product. =)
