Jewelling with a Rotary Buffer and Gtechniq P2 Jewelling Polish


Everyone that's attending Autogeek's Thursday Night Garage Project will have a chance to test out the new Gtechniq P2 Jeweling Polish with the Lake Country Gold Jewelling Pads on Rotary buffers to finish out Bob's 1963 Impala SS

The students at my last detailing bootcamp class finished out all the horizontal surfaces using a rotary buffer with Menzerna SF 4500 and then we topped with Max Wax Carnauba Paste Wax by machine.

So tonight we'll be remove the swirls on the vertical panels and then finishing out with the P2 Jewelling Polish from Gtechniq.

I can find it in the warehouse but I cannot find it on the AG store.

Heading out to the garage to set up for tonight's project...


This will be fun plus we're going to test out the Nanoskin Hydrophobic Nano Paste Wax. We applied Detailer's Poli-Coat to the 1964 Chevy Sedan Delivery on Saturday.

Now that a few days have past might as well play with this new product and do what's called... topping.

P2 was called a hologram remover, now it's called a jeweling polish. Did they change the formula?

Oh well...I guess Company's still reserve the right to change their products' names.

But I still like the sound of Hologram Remover...
Sounds "important" in the overall polishing-scheme, that's often known as paint-correction.

Don't know, just know the bottle in front of me.



We just finished the 64 Chevy and I moved it out on the front lawn for some beauty shots.

Have to get back in the garage and start in on the Impala. We have a special guest with us tonight too...

Hmmm....

First time I've used it. And this is only one paint system. :dunno:

One time on one paint system isn't really what I consider enough usage to compare and contrast any product to come out as use the word,

better


Here's what I'll tell you though... it buffs as smooth as anything I've ever used and leaves an incredibly high gloss shine. At least on this "paint system" using the gold jewelling pads on a rotary buffer.


Good question Ron but I'll need to buff out more cars and that's another way of saying more paint systems as all cars have different paint systems, especially custom cars like this 1963 Impala streetrod.

Robert DiTerlizzi stopped by and helped knock out the heavy cutting and jewelling tonight. Maybe he'll add his thoughts but I don't think after using it one time on one paint system he would ever make a final decision on if the product is better or worse than other products. There's a learning curve to every product and its abrasive technology.

Well Im very interested! We Compounded and topped with collonite by hand hand holograms got worse with Collonite by hand - will this product help?!?!?!?
 
Very interesting. Have been following the polishes by Gtechniq and Sonax. Both look very promising!
 
I`m not a detailer, just a car guy.I worked on the Impala this evening and I would say that we did the best that could be done with the paint system we had to deal with.I dont think more could be done to this car except a new paint job.The owner realizes that there are numerous painter inflected flaws that cant be corrected without starting from bare steel which I dont think he`s interested in.It`s a nice very shiny swirl and hollow gram free car that he should be proud to take to any car show.All in a days work for Mike and Robert.:dblthumb2:
