KILLER CAR WASH - Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

So how does this product fill in cracks? Also do you know what he means about washing everyday? Is he saying what it leaves behind only lasts a day?

If I where to guess it's just so little of protection chemicals that you would need to be useing it daily. The glossenhancer though can be on for a longer time. So maybe if you use weekly or every other week you could repair the coating very little at the time. So a more stout topper or as the Wolfgang über SiO2 wash is a better choice if you want to revive the coating some. Just thoughts though.

I completely agree, Guz. I remember you showing this exact text conversation in an old thread (one I may have started). I was just trying to point out that these can’t really be compared apples to apples, and therefore comparing costs isn’t really fair.

No doubt WG is pricey, but I’m not aware of any similar shampoos to compare it with (maybe loosely to something like Enigma wash, but can’t say for sure as I haven’t used it).

Carpro Hydrofoam and Gyeon Bathe + would fit this range maybe also. Hope you get Sonax Wash and Seal soon as it's a combo with the Sonax Spray and Seal or synergy. Have not used the Sonax Wash and Seal as it's going to long between the washes for me sadly. But will see if I can use it soon. Think that Mike Phillips has tested this and was quite happy about it. The Wolfgang über SiO2 wash seems great and an easy way to be keeping a car protected with regualar washing only if wanted.

Next time there’s a 25% off sale - that would be the time to consider it - at least to test out.

In my email today is a AG Flash Sale offering 25% off

She’s doing it again...

I come home and Stacy has her H-RV parked outside to let Mother Nature wash it.

We had a powerful rain storm moving through and Stacy knows a hard rain will pretty much flush all the airborne dirt and dust off the car.

Last thing I did to it was wash it with the Wolfgang SiO2 Coating Wash.

If the car is still wet in the morning I’ll take water beading shots.

Ha ha...

From page 5

First thing Sunday morning we washed a staff member's daily driver car so we could use it later for going over One Step Production Detailing. This car was very dirty and also incredibly neglected. It doesn't look like it's been clayed or waxed in 10 years.

Putting a product to the test

A brand new car wash was recently introduced and in my original review, (also the first time I used the product), I mentioned that I was so impressed I would be switching over to this car wash for my own personal cars and I shared that in my second review. Check out my first and second reviews in the links I listed at the very bottom of this post.

The idea being, is this SiO2 car wash will truly lay down a layer of coating each time you use it to wash your car. I knew the Avenger was in super bad condition so I decided to test the car wash out with the class and see if we could get the same results I've been getting on my own.

This car has just be sprayed down with water. The SHINE you see on the hood is water. The water is NOT beading up but laying COMPLETLY FLAT.

Here's your truly pointing at the new car wash...

Pouring some into a bucket of clean water.

Wolfgang_SiO2_Wash_03.JPG

Thoroughly mixing the car wash with the water using my mixing stick that I take with me wherever I go.

Wolfgang_SiO2_Wash_04.JPG

Now I'm only going to wash one half of the hood....

Wolfgang_SiO2_Wash_06.JPG

Here's Mike Liebing, our host rinsing the hood...

Wolfgang_SiO2_Wash_07.JPG

BOOM!
You can easily see wherever the car wash touched the paint the paint is now beading water as though it has been coated.

Wolfgang_SiO2_Wash_08.JPG

Driver's side = Phenomenal water beading in context

There was ZERO water beading before we washed this side of the hood

Passenger side - The only water beading is the places the Wolfgang SiO2 Car Wash touched.

Nice product. It's expensive. I'd recommend buying the gallon next time it's on sale and then mix 2 capfuls to 2-3 gallons of water and CAREFULLY HAND WASH your car.

:)

Just wanted to update this thread with my experience with this product. Mike was kind enough to send me a bottle to test out, which I used for the first time tonight. Overall, I am very impressed. I used it on a car with absolutely ZERO beading to see what it could do. I will say, going into this I was quite skeptical, as I am with most products that make bold claims. It did, however, perform exactly as advertised, After rinsing off the product, the surface immediately beaded up just like you see in the pictures in this thread. I've never used any sort of water activated product like this before, so for me this was a pretty cool to see! It also has a really pleasant scent. Is it worth the money? For me, that's going to depend on how long the protection ends up lasting!

Let us know how it holds up, if you have easy access to the vehicle. I received a bottle and did a simple review awhile ago, but I have yet to find a protection-less car to try it on. Probably next time my parents visit.

Finally ordered a 16 oz bottle of this to try out with the 25% discount.

I’m beginning to regret that purchase and think I should have picked up the gallon.

Looks awesome!!

Just to clarify from you comments, did you use it yet?

:)

Not yet, Mike. Just placed my order and awaiting shipment.

Reviewing this thread and your comments, it looks awesome tho and can’t wait to try it!!

Now I get it.

Just to comment, the below picture of the Dodge Avenger that has been totally neglected for probably 10 years, those before and after water beading results are the real deal. I did this LIVE in front of about 18 people at my Indiana class.

I'm so sad I forgot to pack this car wash for my recent Colorado class as we had MULITPLE COMPLTELE NEGLECTED cars that would also have been great demonstrations as to how well this product works.

Pictures: Colorado Roadshow Class- Denver Auto Shield

BUT - I'm packing tomorrow for my Ohio class and I'll be sure to include it.

Roadshow Detailing Class in Powell, Ohio - September 14th & 15th

It's just a cool demo to do live in front of people, some who understandably would be doubtful of the products performance.

:)

That pic is rather impressive and certain proof.

I’m planning on using this as a maintenance wash for my clients(and personal vehicles) to keep hydrophobic properties and protection intact between full details. I prefer doing full washes with two buckets because I feel it is the best practice and this product seems to fit the bill for me.

There are a ton of wash and wax products but non seem to add hydrophobic properties like this except CarPro Hydro foam. I don’t always feel like foaming a car.

Same here. This is my go-to wash for our two SUVs - both of which need to be washed. Ugh...

:)

So I finally tried this on 3 vehicles!! I was going to do my own review but it would have looked almost like I copied and pasted Mikes review. To share some of my thoughts quickly:

* Definitely a low no no suds shampoo. Reminds me a bit of using ONR in that aspect. Suds are overrated anyway. It’s the solution that does the work.

* The solution is very lubricious and you can feel it as you glide your wash media across the paint.

* Has a very subtle candy scent.

* cleans well but isn’t a heavy duty shampoo. I suggest a presoak if something is heavily contaminated. Still a very capable shampoo for standard dirt, grime and road film.

* wash only a panel or two then rinse with a strong jet of water. The wash solution will lay flat on the paint. The STRONG jet of water seems to activate the hydrophobic propertied of this a bit better.

* it increases beading of weakening LSPs by creating almost perfectly round beads.

* definitely makes unprotected paint bead

* I’m amazed how much gloss and shine this can add especially to paint that hasn’t been recently protected.

* really makes drying easier

* 2oz per wash is a nice dilution ratio and the product itself is a thinner consistency

I really like this shampoo. Yes it’s price is rather salty and I would like to see it a bit lower for EVERYONE to enjoy. Hit the 25% sales!

It’s my new favorite wash......... so much so as I already ordered a gallon.

I suggest giving it a try even if its just to pamper and treat your own vehicle,

Nice review Jim.

Blasting with water for the rinse aspect does seem to activate the SiO2.

I demonstrated this at the Ohio Roadshow Class on the severely neglected Porsche Boxter and obtained the same high water beading results.

The hood is wet after washing and rinsing with BF Foam Soap - Zero Water Beading.

hard to photograph water beading on white paint with the car in the shade
But it was an impressive demo for those there in person.

:)

Also just to add....

Please don't get the wrong idea or understanding for this product. It's NOT a product to use to take a neglected car and make it look like you spent hours detailing it.

After I used it the first time on a neglected BMW for my review and seeing it take paint that had not been properly maintained for years, where the water laid flat, and then BOOM make the water bead up - since then I've been using this type of dramatic visual demonstration to show what it can do.

BUT - correctly used, it's for cars that ARE regularly maintained.

So play around with it like I show, but keep in mind, it's a MAINTENANCE WASH for cars kept in good condition to start with.

Make sense?

:)
