Work clean with single-use buffing pads!

How do you ensure that your buffing pads are clean? Use the Lake Country 1-Pad Polishing System and you'll never risk cross-contamination. Lake Country 1-Pads are designed for a single use. The 1-Pad Polishing System features a patented Tri-Density backing plate and curved, disposable buffing pads. Use a fresh pad with every detail!

Conventional buffing pads require cleaning after every use and they eventually wear out. After the first use, the pad will never perform like new again. Cleaning pads takes time but if you neglect this important job, you risk cross-contaminating the vehicle. The 1-Pad Polishing System is the single-use solution!

With 1-Pad buffing pads, you use a fresh, new pad every time you detail. You don't spend valuable time cleaning pads. Every 1-Pad buffing pad performs perfectly. When your detail is finished, throw the pads away. Nothing is more valuable than your time. The time you save by tossing used pads offsets the cost of the 1-Pad Polishing System.

The 1-Pad Polishing System consists of an ultra flexible, patented Tri-Density Backing Plate and a variety of bowl-shaped foam pads. The backing plate has a curved bottom that sits inside of the bowl-shaped 1-Pad buffing pads. The Tri-Density Backing Plate is very flexible.

The cushioned backing plate is made almost entirely of flexible materials. When you transition from a flat surface to a vertical surface with your buffer, the Tri-Density Backing Plate flexes so the pad can maintain contact with the paint. Since the backing plate and pads are curved, there are no blunt edges to dig into the paint. For today's curvy vehicle styles, the 1-Pad Polishing System is a safer way to buff.

Are they going to make these for DA's also?

As cool as this new technology is, isn't it rather wasteful? I like using clean pads just as much as the next guy, but I can always get several uses out of most of my pads before they need to be discarded. With the pads cost 3 for $20 you could easily throw away $60 on one detail if not more. Seems a little extreme to me. But cool idea none the less.

I have the same thoughts and feelings as you do on this. It's a very neat idea but not very economical for the typical detailer or even casual Joe. I would think this system is more for those very special details where 99.99999% perfection still isn't enough. I'm sure the pad prices will come down some after a while but I don't think they'll ever go down enough for me on my budget.

However, kudos to Lake Country for the ingeniuity of the system. :props:

seems pricey for a 1 use system
i will pass

Indeed...pricey and not so good for our planet. When you're done with it, I guess you just throw it away in the garbage...not really green if you ask me... :(

Has Lake Country given any indication who they intend to market this system to?

I was wondering the same thing. Even the highest end detailers wouldn't really need to use this considering they could use each pad at least twice and still save money. I guess you could market it to the guy that is only gonna buff his car once a year and doesn't want pads to store, but that can't be many people.

That's a point I raised before the product was released; unfortunate that LC hasn't addressed how they figure this is a more economical product or more "green" than traditional multi-use pads.

The main advantage I can see to these is the extreme curvature of the pads at their edges -- they would make it easier to work on vehicles with lots of compound curves like C5/C6 Corvettes.

I plan to let others bite the bullet on these first, especially those intending to wash and re-use the pads. If their results are satisfactory, I'll give this system a try.

While I see that LC as a company has to stay fresh and come out with new ideas, I don't think this is practical for a majority of the detailing niche. I will definitely pass on this product. Cool concept though...

I guess almost every single post is PASS well count me in to. Seriously LC? cool idea but for this price I will buy 4 pads n use it for 40 times

That is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. They make an awesome pad cleaner that I use and I never have a "contamination" problem.

I've got some freebies coming that I intend to wash after use and see how long they can actually be used. I'll let you know.

Lokk at it this way. You buy a pair of shoes, and the more you wear them they get broken in and are not as snug as new ones. When you wash a pad, it looses a bit of its ability compared to a new one. If you use sandpaper, do you wash it and reuse it?

I agree to a point. Using a pad once though is a waste. It's not like a pad is only 50% as effective the second time. I usually trash pads alot sooner than most people, but I still get several uses out of every pad, especially light polishing or LSP pads. They can be reused alot if cleaned properly. honestly this system comes across as a marketing scam, and seems like LC thinks the customers are dumb.

Its definitely not a scam, and we in no way think anyone is not intelligent. We are offering an option. Some people it may work for and some people it may not.

I'm sorry, scam was the wrong word. Seems like a marketing ploy. Nothing dishonest, but it plays on peoples lack of knowledge.

this is definitely a weak analogy.... yes I will agree that they slightly lose cutting ability, but certainly not enough to warrant paying those prices for a single use pad.
