Lake Country 1-Pad Polishing System - In Stock!

To avoid any confusion, I have an easier analgy. If you have a brand new cutting pad, and you use it on a vehicle, and then wash it. It may be clean but the pressure, heat and chemicals have broken down the foam to a point. After you use it again, it does not have the same cut as brand new and goes from a cutting pad to a polishing pad. With the 1 pad system, you always get consistant results.

This really opens a huge can of worms here in the "detailing as a science" and "fighting with people on the internet" world. How many product reviews and opinions did we just nullify with the revelation that a pad is not a pad? Do we now have to state when we review a compound/polish how many uses we have on the pad in order to qualify the cutting capability remaining in the pad at the time we tested, and therefore what portion of the cutting came from the pad and what from the chemical?

So, instead of "I just tried XYZ compound on an LC orange CCS" it will be "...on an LC orange CCS with 2 uses" or "...6.8 minutes on speed 5.5". I just used my Hydro-Tech pads a couple of months ago and got great results...will I not be as thrilled with them next time? Did it make a difference that I cleaned the pad between panels with my Edge toothbrush (i.e., did brushing the pad "wear it out" so I really only was using a new pad for the first panel)?

This system definetly has pro's/con's IMO.

It doesn't seem "Green friendly"
The pad cost does seem a bit high for something that's marketed throw away.
Cost of the Backing Plate is up there in price ($44):
Lake Country 1-Pad Try 1 Introductory Offer, Lake Country 1Pad, buffing pads, single use buffing pads, foam pads

Here is where I could find some value:
quoted from AG
"The cushioned backing plate is made almost entirely of flexible materials. When you transition from a flat surface to a vertical surface with your buffer, the Tri-Density Backing Plate flexes so the pad can maintain contact with the paint. Since the backing plate and pads are curved, there are no blunt edges to dig into the paint. For today's curvy vehicle styles, the 1-Pad Polishing System is a safer way to buff."

When doing corrections, polishing, finishing(LSP) on personal/customer vehicles,
there are those vehicles that have aggressive contours and curves this 1-Pad system would help (me).

Thanks for posting this! Everyone has flamed me for throwing away once used Cyan HT pads, this is exactly why.
Hey you have my address if you want to be more green :) I will gladly recycle them for you and keep them out of the landfills..LOL

It is usable with a DA is it not?

It is not recommended for use with a DA. The system was designed for rotary use. With that being said, I will conduct a little experiment using my Griot's ROP when I return home from my business trip.

I study marketing but it doesn't take a genuis in marketing to realise that this product is very bad advertised because it's basicly saying that all their other pad is sh*t and won't perform well after 1 use.

We,ve been polishing for the past 70 years ? Lots of innovation have come up but some are useless.. Let's see what's new in this kit:

A flexible backing plate ( this is interesting, but I think 3M make one pretty flexible too)
- CCS pad ( nothing new here)
- size is not new too
- The only difference is that the pad curves right? Well, anyone who use a 6' backing plate with a 6'5 pad know that when they slightly flex their pad, it will curve the same as the one on the 1-step.

So nothing new there.. I rather buy a set of 6 pack for 50$. a lot cheaper.

I have a tips for you Lake country, Cut down your price or else you guys are loosing '' prestige ''.

I love LC pads, it's the only thing I use, I love AG too for many reasons and I hope nobody will hate me for my comments. I just think it's just a rebadged products with a higher price tag.
