LC Flat Pads or LC HYDRO Pads

I am currently looking to buy some new pads which ones do you guys recommend for PC 7424 want 5.5" will be using M105 & M205

:iagree:I don't know that you NEED to get the HT's. I have and use both with the PCxp, but the HT's are definitely my favorite over the LC flat. The cyan HT doesn't seem to last as long as the orange flats (when used w/ the PCxp, but doesn't seem to be as big of an issue when used with the Flex 3401 or a rotary). The cyan seems to correct and finish out better though than the orange flat IMO. However Buff & Shine are starting to become my new favorite pads...:props:

Wit the LACK of power of the 7424(non-xp), I think he needs the pads that will correct better, hence, the Hydro's. :p

Yes.......B&S yellow, green, and black are the shiznit!!

Hell are the non-xp versions still around...:dunno: LMAO!
 
I wouldn't even bother with foam pads using M105 on a 7424xp - Go with a 5" MF cutting pad and be done with it (or 5" surbuf on tougher jobs). On M205, I would go tangerine HT foam all day long, as it finishes down like a black flat LC pad. Nice combo for sure

Even at that, like Mark said; the HT pads offer better correction and finish down nicer. I just don't think the cyan lasts as long using a PCxp, as an orange flat. However I still prefer the HT's to the flats...

how come noone is recommending the LC hybrid pads?

too big for PC?

I was looking at B&S pads but they only come in 4 or 7 inch... no 5.5?

I am not recommending them because I don't have any experience with them yet. As to the B&S pads; they do come in 5.5". Send Ken (911fanatic) a pm he can help you out with the 5.5" ones..

Mark has used them though...

I have some of the heavy cutting orange in my cart. Wanna see what all the hype is about...
 
Thanks for all the info. I guess i will pick up some hydrotech pads. I just need a couple. Since i will fianlly get my Flex XC3401 this summer. I cant wait to get my hands on it. :buffing:

I happen to have a 7424 (non xp) and have real good success using the 5.5" flat pads. Perhaps with my next order I should go HT, but I'm the kind of guy that if something works for me, I'll stick with it. What is the advantage of using the HT with the 7424? Somebody enlighten me please.
 
I guess it depends on what you are going to be doing with them.

I used 5 1/2" LC flat pads on my antique PC7424 for years, prior to the release of the PC-xp and the HT pads.
It might not be as fast, but it will get the job done.

I would 2nd the motion above, get the MF cutting and polish pads instead of the foam pads for doing correction. They are quick to work with on the PC.

So far I have only tried the Megs MF DA kit with the D300/D301 vs Opti MF cutting and polish pads using the hyper combo. I prefer the Optimum MF pads and Opti Hyper combo to date. I have a set of CG MF pads to try out, don't have anything to try them on yet.

Going MF cutting and polish pads, and then back to a Black & Red 5-1/2" flat for final polish ( if you do this ) and LSP would get a lot of correction done with your PC.

I know a few people that use the Megs MF pads, and sub in M105 / M205 instead of D300/D301 ( or go 50-50 on the maroon MF pad with D300 / M105 ).
