Listen up autogeek! Ditch the peanuts!

I hate the peanuts, too, but I always forget to ask for paper packaging. Either way, though, I have never seen shipments packed so neatly as AG does it. It is really impressive.
 
I don't like them either, they are a pain to deal with when unpacking, but, it's not THAT big of an issue to me. As a said in an earlier post, don't sweat the small stuff. :xyxthumbs:

But seriously we state this VERY often on this forum, you have your choice, Peanuts are safest with chemicals shipping so that is our default packing material, after all the goal is to ship your items safely. BUT- we have made it very well known that we have other options you just have to put a note in the comments box that you want paper or even bubble wrap. We give choices, you just have to make one and we will provide it.

Packing peanuts are not evil or annoying in their own right, it's the peanuts AG uses. They're static-y and stick to anything and everything and difficult to round up. I specify packing paper on my orders... for whatever reason those orders seem to take days before they start moving compared to when I don't make a special request. :shrug:

I've ordered a ton of stuff from numerous sources over the last month or so and the majority of them that came packed with peanuts used the environmentally friendly type. No static, biodegradable and water soluble if you want to get rid of them. Yeah, they cost a bit more too.

I really dont care what they use, as long as I get my package undamaged and nothing leaked out I am happy. Ill gladly get out the vacuum if it means I just got an order from AG!

When I saw this had pop up again, I was gonna ask for this too...

wow...a whole lot of replies for a thread I was just venting in. (I wish I had taken a pic of the broken up box on trash day and the mess they made.

Lets go through the suggestions:

"Why dont you just, donate them, store them in your garage, recycle them, pour them in a bag and toss em etc"

Because I dont have time for that. besides detailing, taking care of an 18 month old and working full time and other things I dont have time for that. Sorry.

EXACTLY my friends. I have a TON of things to worry about in my life and the world to be attacked by millions of packing peanuts when I ordered a 16 oz plastic bottle of trim dressing that already is packed in a plastic cylinder with a foam applicator and a few pads. Seems over kill. Plus one - two always escape and are a choking hazard for a kid that likes to eat everything. Its just annoying.

again...when you are ordering pads and already packaged items you dont always expect them to be packed in peanuts. I order all kinds of things from different sites regularly and AG is the only ones who pack in peanuts.

also, my suggestion was MORE than reasonable to add a drop down tab that asks you "what would you like your items packaged in?" Obviously there are others that dont like the peanuts.

"AG people are really nice and great." I never said otherwise. Thats why I order my items exclusively through them and only use their detail forum. If I DIDNT like AG and the FORUM so much I wouldnt order from them.

After the disaster the last fight with peanuts created I think I have a right to vent a bit.

Peanuts save me money over christmas! When packing gifts for others, I have a ready supply of packing peanuts. Of course, I have to order more from AG to get those peanuts, so not sure if that saving me money logic works, but it makes me feel better lol
 
Ok this thread is obviously going south so let's close it down and please remember we have several packing options, you just have to let us know.
