I am looking for a medium polish to add to my arsenal. Currently I have Megs M105, M205 and D151. I am trying to sell and get rid of the D151 because I do not like the built-in wax component and the fact that it dusts so much.

So, I am looking for a polish that is about the same abrasiveness as D151, maybe a little more, and is priced reasonably. Low dust properties would be great as well. The polish needs to be able to act as a one-step product on my Winter Gray Metallic Prius. I will be using the polish with a Flex 3401 and Lake Country pads.

Thanks.

That Optimum Polish II has me interested. How well will that stuff finish out on a darker color? Is the working time as long as M205?

why not give D151 a try with a Optimum MF polishing pad. Power finish is real nice stuff and works really well.

Very long Working time and super easy wipe off with minimal to no dusting. I used it on my Avitar picture before finishing off with Collinite 845. That was a on a black CTS-V, Hyper polish is also a great one. I used an orange pad to give it more cut on my PC.

Menzerna Power Finish PO203 FTW! A GREAT polish, my favorite in it's class!!

Optimum hyper spray polish(new formula)

It's basically the same as Optimum polish II, except in spray form and works better!

Question Mark, I heard that it is hard to clean out of your pads. Is that true? It isn't a big concern and won't stop me from buying it, just wondering.

If it's hard to completely remove the color from the pads, but the pad will still be clean(I'm sure you know that). It's very important to soak or clean the pad right after your done using it. It finishes better than M205 and it has more cut!!

Awesome, thanks! :righton: When the right time comes, I'll definitely be purchasing this.

Does Menz power finish finish down LSP ready? If so, what pad is recommended? CCS orange or white? I'll be using a Flex 3401. Just wondering if this would work for me as a 1 step polish instead of doing the whole WG TSR/FG route.

Also, would power finish work as my cleaner/paint prep step for WG DGPS?

Thanks!!

It absolutely finishes LSP ready. You can go with orange or white, depending on the amount of cut you need. It's definitely a great 1-step polish. You may not get quite the cut of WG TSR, but it will finish better than TSR, almost as good as FG. Any polish will clean the paint, but PF contains a lot of polishing oils, so it's recommended to wash or do an IPA wipe down prior to applying the LSP.

Thanks Mark. Tips like that are so good to know! So would an ONR wash work to remove the oils prior to applying WG DGPS? Or does it have to be a specific car wash soap?

No problem. :dblthumb2:

Personally, I like to use a wash without any polymers(ONR has polymers) prior to applying an LSP, so there's no bonding issues. However, most people will say you'll be just fine using ONR.
