Looking for a paintwork cleanser

As stated before, this is assuming that all swirls and scratches have been removed. I only want to clean the paint and remove any old wax to prep it for a new coat. I don't need the abrasives in M09.

I think any product claiming to be a paintwork cleanser is going to abrade small particles of clearcoat and remove paint.

I suggested the M09 since the cleaners and diminishing abrasives in the product are extremly mild and because this product has the same TS oils as M07 Show Car Glaze.

Just something to think about.

GG Paint Prep or a citrus based APC if you want to do it on the cheap.

Interesting thought. My only concern would be those polishing oils interfering if I were to follow up with a non-Meguiar's wax or sealant. Is this thought unfounded? I could just use Swirl X I suppose, since M09 and Swirl X are essentially the same thing. Who knows. I may just use Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, since it's pretty cheap and a few places still carry it locally.

SwirlX is a lot more aggressive than M09 actually.

You could just use Deep Crystal paint cleaner since it has no polishing oils and is strictly a cleaner.

What separates paint cleaners or attributes to look for? I understand traditional polishes but paint cleaners have little if any cut.

I have only used Mothers Pre-Wax cleaner on paint but have used Poorboys on hard plating.

Im suprised nobody mentioned dg501. One of the best, i think, chemical cleaners out there. I use it on every white car that I work on. It cleans paint extremely well and leaves behind an extremely durable sealant. Its also cheap to boot!
Absolutely. That stuff is gold!

just picked up cg citrus wash and gloss, would like to know what everyone thinks about using that as the paint prep as it states you can with the right dillution.

Hijacking my own thread here. Can you top Duragloss 105 with Collinite 915 or 845?

Or can you top one of the Collinites with a pure carnauba such as P21S or Signature Series II?

This is a killer combo. This is what I use for our harsh NY winters. I also use 601 and leave it on... Then follow with the 105 and wipe it all off.

You can also top Collinite with SSII or any other nuba if you think it is necessary.
