Looking for a quality drying towel

I have tried the knockoffs to compare and they don't hold a candle to the PFM. Send me your address and I'll send you a brand new one.

The package arrived last night. I can’t thank you enough, that’s very generous of you. May the good karma pay you back, my friend.

I did a bucket wash on my car earlier today and used the PFM straight out of the bag after a sheeting rinse.

Right out of the bag I could tell the PFM is built a bit more beefy than the knockoffs. It feels softer as well... The people out there who talk about the PFM not being soft enough are flat out wrong.

1 towel managed to dry my car minus the windows & wheels. I expected that to be the case + I don’t have a roof to dry. It did reach its maximum at the end of drying the car and I wrung it out to release a good amount of water. After wringing it out it was still useful for spot drying the nooks & crannies w/Sidekick.

Final thoughts: This towel is softer than expected.
You can feel the quality.
Impressive considering it’s a 16x16” towel.
Best drying towel ever? Not at this size... The 16x16” size is a bit awkward for drying a vehicle, I think the larger towel would provide a better user experience.

Reasons I think that?
1. You can’t really lay and drag with a towel this size.
2. At 16x16” if and when you lay it flat, its edges flop around [especially when drying vertical panels because your hand isn’t big enough to prevent it from happening.
3. Using a towel this size requires you to wipe and rub the paint as opposed to having the option to lay and drag. It’s nice to be able to have that option with a larger towel for those times/vehicles you want to be extra careful with.

However, none of those reasons are dealbreakers, and if I were to solely base it on overall quality of the towel and its drying performance I’d rate it top notch. But my personal preference can’t help but think the larger PFM is better suited for drying a vehicle.

Thanks again.

I really like the PFMs, too. At 16x16 I think theyre perfect. I have a larger MF towel from CG and find it awkward to use compared to the 16x16 PFM.

I did just try my new CG Greay Matters waffle weave and wow, what a soaker upper. Did our whole Pacifica with a PFM and a Grey Matter.

I use my medium Big Blue to so soak up the majority and then come along with the 16 x 16 PFM to finish it off. I have other plush drying towels but always forget their name, plush but they got turned into pink drying towels due to RW and WW plush, edgeless bleeding out their color (red) even after several washes.

Oh and BTW I've come around on the pat down method but doesn't work quite as well when it's 40 down in the garage, well unless you let it sit for a bit after patting.

It’s cheaper.
It’s no slouch.
It’s a whole lot more portable.
It’s light weight.
It’s quik in, quik out & you’re done.
It’s just for those stubborn areas that you’ll never ever be able to hit such as inside side mirrors, wheels, lug nuts, grills, plastic trim [and I mean behind the trim], window moldings, license plates, lights, windshield wipers, emblems... If you get your car wet and don’t have 1 of these you’re cheating yourself.
.
Truth. The Sidekick is the perfect drying companion. Quick to deploy, very effective at all the seams/emblems/trim/wheels, and one handed operation. I'm a rinseless junkie and still find it to be a great tool.
It's also great for small clean up jobs like the lawn mower and my wood working tools, and inflating toys. I've used it after powerwashing the patio furniture and the grill to dry them off. Great little tool that takes up the space of a 2 liter soda bottle.

I use it to help clean my Ridgid shop vac. There’s no way I’d be able to get the filter and inside as clean as I do without it.

It’s also useful to help spot dry upholstery. It just takes a bit of patience, but with its warm air it’s really handy.

Oddly enough autopia shows they are available.

Believe me, I asked the same exact question... I was told they haven’t updated their system and that they’ve been sold out since late last week.

Lame! They should honor the final price when they get them back....

PFM is a great towel amazing towel. It's the MF weight and weave type that makes it great but not $35+ great. It's a twisted loop weave at a great gsm. I'm also betting the border is neither silk nor satin (these will push water away from the towel and not absorb it.) probably MF suede.
For a drying towel like the PFM you are looking for 70/30 MF, 500+ gsm, twisted loop weave, edgeless or a MF suede border. There are quality one's out there still pricey not PFM pricey. If your willing to be patient give it a couple of months and everyone will be making twisted loop MF and you can buy whatever you want until then I would stick to a 70/30 waffle weave 16x16 and 16x24. I prefer smaller towels so they never hit the ground.
I like my lazy man car drying. Electric leaf blower dry top to bottom Then follow up with my 70/30 waffle weave towel. I can dry my car in 10 minutes and blow out hidden pockets of standing water that no towel can get to and it's as touchless as you can get with the exception of having to go around and do touch up with a waffle weave.

Once you use a GG PFM towel you'll see how worth it if really is
