Greeting gents, long time lurker, first time poster. I've been tinkering around with my PC 7424 (non XP) for a few years now. I do a few vehicles a year, mostly friends and family.

These are the waxes currently in my arsenal. I'm really looking for the one wax to go to, every time, and not think twice about it. I find myself using all of them, sometimes putting one on top of the other. Just looking for maximum protection and longevity.

I'm not a connoisseur of detailing vehicles. Just like to make them look better than they come in. If you had to grab one of these, and put two coats on a vehicle, and sleep well at night, which would you choose?

Thanks guys. The choices and prices of the waxes today can be very overwhelming.

Why not some optimum car wax? easy to use, lasts a while and provides a nice layer of protection

I don't know what that collinite paste one is, but based off what I've read around here........... From that selection I'd say the 845 for its durability.

From what you have, either Collinite. I would get some DG Aquawax to apply when you wash the vehicle, it keep the Collinite last a very long time.

Out of those 5 choices I would go with the Collinite 845.

I see 2 in your collection -845 & 3M Prformwnce Finish(sealant)

Thanks guys. I'm very open to suggestions. I know the key to a good wax job is prepping the clear coat. So I try my best to do that.

I've never used the paste version of NXT tech wax. Is it more durable than the liquid bottle I have? I know the liquid version I have is very easy on and easy off. I like to wax old school "Daniel Son" style. Wax on and wax off by hand.

Another question, the easier a wax is to remove, does that translate into a wax not lasting as long? Not surviving the elements?

I think just about all the manufacturers have added additives and stuff that make waxes go on and come off a lot easier than back in the day.

People talk about the "ease of application" and the "easy removal" and I think most of the manufacturers have fine-tuned their formulas to the point where if it's not fairly easy to apply and remove, it costs them significant market share.

There are too many choices out there to have to put up with a PITA wax or sealant.

I guess paste has more durability than a liquid and a sealant probably has more durability than both. But if you are detailing your car that frequently, is it an issue?

If you are like most of us, this is the beginning of a never ending quest to find "The One".

But in reality what you have there is already good options. Me personally I would and do reach for Colli 845 when I need an easy to use and super durable wax. 4-6+ months is not unheard of with this stuff. Which reminds me. I'm at the bottom of my bottle and need to get some more...

:welcome: To Autogeek Online Rob!

Of the 4 waxes in your photo, either of the Collinite waxes would be my go to waxes without hesitation.

Collinite 845 tops the list and Collinite 476 a close second..

If you really want to dazzle someone try claying then use a paint cleaner before applying either waxes. Prepping the finish is where 80% of your success comes from....:props:

If i had to have only one wax, I'd probably go for Optimum Car Wax - reasonable durability, pretty good looks, and application is so, so easy. For a more conventional, reasonably priced wax that's available at AG, I'd choose Collinite 915 - more durable than 845, and I find it to look better too (adds depth and that carnauba glow rather than the overly bright and reflective finish that 845 and 476 give).

From what you have I would say it's a toss up between 3M Performance Finish and 845. Use a paint polish before applying either product.

Collinite 845, 915 or 476...

I'd go with 915.... I cannot believe what this has done to my silver Acadia.

I'm staying with Optimum Car Wax until proven otherwise. All I did was wash with foam cannon without touching the car. (I'm a big believer in touchless washes) and then applied OCW. (Mind you, the car was basically swirl free and smooth) and it glistened like no tomorrow. I have a daily driver, and my family was blown away by the level of shine. Remarkable.
