Did you have a Flex 3401 or a g21 or rupes stolen?
I've never owned a Rupes. Most were Porta Cables, GG, Flex, Cyclo and others. I don't remember the model numbers. I had like 15 DA's stolen and 8 or so rotary's. The last new ones I bought 3 or 4 years ago that cost way more than they were worth was two Flex DA's. They were the rage at that time. Sorry I just don't remember the model numbers. Like I said, none of them I'm sure were members of the current crop of must have over priced whizz bang state of the art stuff.
In a past life I painted a lot of cars and aircraft. And with that came correction and detail work during and after the paint process. Along with after care.
When I decided I needed to get a DA and Rotary to replace my stolen tools and rehab the Civic. I got into contact with some trade supply shops. Surfed the web and chatted with some people still in the trade I trained over the years. As a computer geek the opinions and sales/marketing tricks and info was about as useless as the Nvidia and AMD graphics card wars concerning machines in the detail industry. It all came back to half truths and fan boyism.
I talked to one guy I've known since grade school who spent his whole career in the trade and basically is in the same psychical shape I'm in. We are both pretty much used up body wise. He told me to get the HF stuff and move on. I got with him and drank some adult beverages played with the HF pair he had and then compared to some other machines he had. A Potra Cable DA and a Rupes DA that was a gift to him he never uses. I think it is one of the current ones. So I threw my hands up and went to HF. Walked out with a DA and Rotary at just a tad over $100 fully expecting to throw them away and go get a pair of Flex, GG, Torx or some other expensive machines. Wont be buying anything else now

While I do understand egro's concerning the use of a tool, weight, vibration and other elements of use and ownership of a product. With seven hernias in my stomach I've had repaired twice already a bad back, arthritis, nerve damage and other issues. The HF in and of it's self has not been hard on me at all.
I wish you luck in your journey.
