Looking to try something new for tires.

How many typical car tires will McKees coat?

4 ounces seems ike a small bottle.

Yeah, these coatings are watery and spread very well, a little does truly go a long way for sure! One thing you'll notice with these coatings is a blueish tint to the product, there's something different going on in there for sure.

You should get a solid month out of it on a DD but doing an initial coat requires the tire to be cleaned of all old dressing and grime, ofcoarse. I would do a coat, wait 15 minutes, touch the tire to make sure its dry to the touch and then add 1-2 more coats, waiting the same interval inbetween those coats. I say this because you really need to lay down a good base coat and different tires have different levels of pores.

I have found 303 Protectant to be a good dressing as it gives the look I like. I'm not a fan of glossy slick looking tires. Like many others that I have tried, I reapply ever week or two. After reading other comments here, it looks like I'll be giving McKee's a try...an application every three months sounds a lot better.

Maybe I've been in a cave eating bear, but I never knew that 303 could be used as a tire dressing.

I also use 303 protectant for the following:
Car and SUV - dash
SUV - running boards, mud flaps, and black exterior trim
Boat - Marine seats and cushions; fiberglass (as good as any marine sealant...and a lot easier to apply); and trim. Also spray directly on the trailer tires...great UV protection.

I didn't mention TW tire coating because its been gone off of the shelves for so long and the only way to get it is Ebay or people here who have horded it during the sales a while ago. Its really too bad they pulled the plug on it when they did, its an awesome product that was so easy to buy and use. The only downside was because of the tint it had it would stain the sides of your wheels, so it had to be wiped off right away or polished out with some good polish. I have about 4 bottles of it, so I'm good to go.

I see 303 was mentioned to use on tires, keep in mind that 303 is a rock solid brand that's always working to be one of the best:dblthumb2:

This is what I use as well. On tires that look bad it usually takes 2 coats to get them looking good. They I just clean then. When they stop looking new I reapply. About every 3-4 months.

No idea if this stuff is better or worst than other. I like that it's mostly matte finish and gives me that new tire looking without being overly shiny. You can gloss it up a little by buffing. No idea if that lasts or not.

Going to try McKee's Tire Rejuvenator as well for comparison. DG is cheap and works - not too motivated to try too many others.

That is a great deal!

I just checked real quick and there's a single for just under $14.00, somebody has it stashed away, I better keep an eye on couple bottles

Are you all talking about the TW Jet Black Endura-Shine Tire Coat Kit or a different one?

Honestly as long as I have TWBES available I am good.
When the well dries up, I will have a problem. It would mosdef be McKees then.
Being a hobbyist I use it on my family and friend fleet.

Now if I was a full time detailer, a coating would be had at a premium.
Scrubbing to get clean, then the drying with a hair dryer and applying takes a fair share of time.

I usually coat them 2 times a year, once in spring and once in winter.
Really once a year because I change my tires for seasons. Maintenance use to be D156 but now it's Opti-Seal after the wheels are dried.

Which tire dressing/protectant has the greatest blackening effect? I have gloss black wheels and would like a product that will make the tire finish go really well with the wheels. TIA

In going to go with Blackfire Total Eclipse on this one. Pinnacle Black Onyx would be next followed by opti-bond.

Anyone use WETS on tires? It is on the pricey side for a tire sealant but wondered if looks and longevity may be worth it.

That's All I use!

Easily lasts months for me. Has a beautiful Satin look and feel to it. It is pricey, but a little goes on a long way. I got tired of using tire products with a fake shine and that would only last a few days to a few weeks. If you clean your tires with a good quality car wash that does not remove wax like Wolfgang Auto Bathe or similar products to it, the WETS will last for months! I usually do 2 coats to ensure full coverage.

For me, the Beautiful satin look,
Longevity, and Quality of this product, make the price worth it.
