Awesome correction tool, but it makes it really hard to buff certain cars without using 4" pads. It's annoying. I think I'm going to buy the Griot's 6" ROP again!

you should of never gotten rid of it in the first place. having another DA (or spare/backup) is nice that you can even teach someone/friend on how to machine polish for the first time if they've never done it before...

It is always good to have a backup polisher. The Griots DA polisher is a good tool to have. I would get a 3.5" DA Backing Plate and the CCS 4" Spot Buff Pads to use in the tight areas.

Pretty sure Flex is aware of the demand for a smaller backing plate to use with the 3401. In the meantime, as mentioned already, it's always good to have something as a backup or a dedicated machine for smaller pads. Not to mention if you're using a a beast like the 3401 as your go-to polisher for the most part.

I always use my 3401 to polish the main panels of a car, and a PC + 3.5" backing plate for smaller areas (bumpers etc).

And just when i thought you were done buying another machine .:xyxthumbs: Mark next time send me your old stuff and i will hold onto it for you lol. Well i know one thing AG isn't going to complain about another purchase from you.

That's why I like the Lake Country Variable Contact pads that seemingly only Poorboy's World sells, because I can turn the Flex almost on it's side and still have a flat pad surface to polish smaller or more narrow areas with. Plus having that PC style machine with 3 or 4 inch pads is just a necessity for some areas.

Thats what my Edge Adapter is for :)

I'll sell it to you for 150$.

LOL, Adam! I waste more money!

It would be worth it to me! haha

Now that the adapter is out of release it should (could) command much more ... say a bazillon $$$.

I'm definitely going to re-buy the Griot's 6", probably in a few minutes. :) Plus, it's great to have for damp sanding, etc...

All the moderators chiming in.

John,

This is good to know! :props:

This would be the only complaint I have with the 3401 polisher....

I do have my Porter Cable polisher with a 3 1/2" backing plate for those tight areas. Normally this polisher sits at the ready with a 5" Lake Country plate for use with 5 1/2" flat pads......:props:

I will have my 3401 armed with 6.5" LC flat pads and the Griot's ready to go with LC 4" flat pads. :buffing:

Rotary for small pads?
Sold the 3403. I gave it some time, but after all, I didn't want to deal with holograms. The biggest deal breaker was using it on doors(vertical panels). What a PITA, that thing was all over the place!

I know what you mean. I am looking forward the design they will use. The feature that makes the flex so powerful is also it's weakness in this respect.

:iagree: Been doing the same thing for years without issue. I guess it is a big boy toy, kids go homeIm the MAN
