Love hate relationship with the Flex 3401...

Sold the 3403. I gave it some time, but after all, I didn't want to deal with holograms. The biggest deal breaker was using it on doors(vertical panels). What a PITA, that thing was all over the place!

Oh... I'm sad  LOL

I use 5.5 pads with my flex mainly now. I have a full sized bp for my 6.5 pads as well but I cut down one BP and the 5.5 pads get into alot tighter spaces. sometimes there isnt really a need for much work with my Megs DA and 4" pads

It doesnt look pretty but it works great! I havent seen any change in feel or performance and the BP hasnt damaged any pads. The cut one was from before I used the dremel and had just used a razor blade to trim the foam on the bp

Can someone answer why the edge adapter was discontinued? I don't understand why they would stop selling a valuable product.

Edge designed and manufactured the adapter and likely had some hand work in them too. They sold to 3M and likely the amount of time, cost, and number of units they could move all worked into the equation.

That said I am eager to see the next manufacturer that could build or manufacturer a small backing plate for this buffer.

Me too. It will be interesting to see how they are going to cover the teeth.

Wonder if they could somehow alter the ratio for higher opms or torque?
