You know M105 is so finicky especially if you don't have a climate controlled shop to work in. Sometimes I get tons of dust and other times nothing at all. Dusting never bothered me that much though. I'm also leaning towards M100 to try next (out of FG400, M100, M101). I have a thing for SMAT compounds and low pricesrops: Who knows maybe I'll end up with them all to do my own side by side testing.
EDIT: Just checked out your site. Nice job on the Civic![]()
I had already figured I would never be able to empty my bottle from m105, such is the hard time I always have working with it.... But I've read somewhere else.... I don't know if it was Michael Stoops or Jason Rose, saying the issues specially with M105 was because people are always using it on a way it wasn't intended to be used.... he said that M105 was designed to work fast, cut fast... do more on less time basically.... so it wasn't like some diminishing compound that you need to work for 1 full minute or 2, but rather a quick use (which I suspect is around 20 seconds to me on a DA and 10s on a rotary). The problem is.... in 10s... what section size you're able to work ? Almost nothing, even if it cuts that fast...
Last time (this weekend), I figured "Well.... if I won't be using it, at least I'll try along with D300).... Primed my pad with D300, added 2 drops from M105, 1 from D300 and lived happily ever after...... I thought it was something new, but reading over the forums it was a trick already recommended by many many people and do work great..... you just lose that "body shop safe", factor from M105.
I'm too between FG400, M100, M101.... I would personally get the M101, I just don't think the price AG is asking is fair.... anyway, I can always ask for a price match (because price already dropped around $11 on some places), but even so it'll be 2x more than M100 and we also have, on this topic, some great feedback from the few people that have already tested M100 with a DA....
What worries me now is:
Less dust, more working time..... but where is the cutting ability when compared side by side with m105 on a DA ????? Much more ? A little more ? The same ? And compared to m101 on a DA ????? Much less ? A little less ?
Because if for a DA use, it'll cut just like M105, I'll sure jump into M101.... I still have plenty M105 / D300.... and what I'm looking for is to add something new to my working capacity...
