i used some meg m40 on trim and hard black plastic (side mirrors) the other day, and the next morning it had spots and looked like a rainbow. im not sure if this was because of water getting on it before it cured, but i definately didnt like it.

have any of you experienced this?

I really like Meguiar's M40 but limit its use to the vehicles interior. It is possible that some moisture came in contact with it cause it to slightly separate resulting in what you're seeing.

I would go over the area again working the product evenly and be sure that you over apply it as it can be a bit runny.

:iagree:

I like Ultimate Protectant on EXTERIOR, and M40 on interior. Ive had U.P streak on interiors on me...but never m40...and on the other hand I've had good luck wiht U.P on exterior...as long as it DOES NOT come in contact with water...if it does it'll streak for sure. Another option is to go over the area with a MF towel after you finish applying the product. I say give it another try...just make sure the area is clean and water free.

M40 has zero durability on exterior trim. Once water hits it runs like a hyena from a lion on the African grassland. Use M40 on the interior and Ultimate Protectant on the exterior.
