Meg's DA MF system comments...

I used it on an 08 mercedes e350..and I will post pics tomorrow..it came out nice but I must say that in this cars case it seems to have "hard" paint..and while it gave great results with not TOO much effort..I did have to make 2 or 3 passes. I do believe that on softer paint it would have been "one pass and done" good system..as it does save alot of time.

or if you dont have a compressor you can use the bug sponge like in the one thread that seems to work very well.

I don't use a brush because the bristles are too wide apart to clean in-between the microfibers. Compressed air is best to clean the pads with but we don't carry air on board my detail rigs so..........

We found that a bug sponge works awesome!

Here is a dirty MF pad. I have cleaned pads that were much more "loaded up" than this with the bug sponge.

I turn on the machine and I run the sponge over the face of the pad for about 15 seconds.

Clean and ready for more action!!

I think this is what you wanted more information on.

Great, thanks. I don't have a compressor yet so that will help a lot.

to bad that this system is not available yet in Europe :(

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the system Marc. :)

What speed were you working on? I think those massive arms to apply too much pressure! :D

LOL! I used speed 4 on the Griots. I didn't apply HEAVY pressure. I'm still not done with the system, it removed defects great, I just don't like using a non forced rotation DA. With the 3401/m105/surbuf, I don't have to worry about pressure or pad rotation, that's what I like! :D

Yeah, it is nice not having to apply pressure with the Surbufs. I just hate all the dust and the D300 finishes down much better for the most part. I finished a Lexus last night that look amazing after D300! :props:

Try bumping up the speed a little when you get to curved panels. I'm usually on speed 5 with my PCXP.

Using the G110 on speed #4 with a 5" pad doesn't have enough power to keep rotation going it seems. Speed #4 on a G110V2 might have plenty. This was my experience from my first session with the MFDA system.

Tried the MFDA with a 3401 using a 5" pad on a modded BP and really didn't like the combo at all. Speed #1 worked OK and Speed #2 was the sweet spot for me. Like to hear other people's findings with the Flex 3401 and the MFDA.

Others keep reporting the easy removal of D300. I did not find this with my first results. 2006 Honda white taffeta paint(BC/CC). Wipe off reminded me of M015 when it glazes from heat/too high rpm settings.

Overall I think the MFDA "system" is outstanding. I just need more time adjusting to it.

That's strange because I let it sit on the hood of my car for a good twenty minutes after using it and it still wiped off very easy.

That's odd indeed. For me it's almost as easy as removing M205. Was the paint severely oxidized? How long did you work the polish?

Just swirled up real good. One to two passes with a properly primed cutting MF pad. After the pass or passes, I would clean pad via compressed air. Two to three pea size dots of new material and go after a new 2X2 area. Wipe off just wasn't "205" like.

I'm working on a monthly customers car tomorrow(2008 black Towncar), more to report on Thursday. Thanks for the follow up Rasky. =)

So which means that everyone is saying that the Flex DA is not a good tool to combine the new MF system? DAMN it, i just got mine with 6.5" for my 3401, but i haven't tried it, but now everyone is saying that it is not a good combination to go with, the questions is can i use that 6.5" pad for my PC?

I just ordered 6.5" MF pads for my Flex too, will be here Thursday and have a black Pontiac to do this weekend. I'm going to give it my best shot. I think there's a sweet spot or speed that'll do just fine.

I tried the Flex 3401 with the MF system with not good results. The pads were very grabby and at 4800 OPM's(speed 6), when I put too much pressure, I created holograms. If you haven't used the MF pads, return them to AG.

Cool. Keep me posted. I had one neglected finish that required a little more effort to remove than normal, but it was still easier than M105. :)
