Meg's Hyper Dressing Sucks!

yeah never used it on tires but i've been using it on plastic wells for quite some time at 4:1. i could prolly got way weaker and be happy but i have enough to last me too long, esp. since plastic wells seem to be less and less popular in my fleet :)
 
hyper dressing is a great value for the money if you do many cars and can be diluted for different tasks. but, i would much rather use PERL as it's dilutable as well and at 3:1, probably lasts longer than hyper dressing at 1:1/full strength. PERL f t w...

What makes Perl so much preferable, for some people...
rather than, say: Meguiar's D170? They appear to be identical in make-up:

I think its more "popular" cause the label says carpro. I like PERL too but don't see it as a holy grail. I'm not usually one for designer labels. I'm much more into product qualities in general. Cost being a very close second.

that doesn't make a difference to me, if I personally use something and it works to my satisfaction/liking, then I will continue to buy it unless there is something else I try that tops it or does a better job...

in regards to the new label (2014 new formula) on the current bottles of perl...
Not only new look,
we added some waterbase resin and more hydrophobic material, it last little longer than before.


also, two other top tire dressings that are fantastic are mothers fx tire shine and dg#253... :dblthumb2:
 
It's all I use.

I spray it onto a sponge block and apply it lightly, works great for me.
It's a dressing and unlike a coating it doesn't last very long.
 
Hard to find now but I love 4 star ultimate tire gel. I have been using it for years. Slings a little bit but to me it has a nice luster that lasts a while. I was able to find 1/2 gal online. So I am stocked up.
 
Love me some Hyper Dressing! I've been using it for years mixed around 3:1. Nice matte sheen with no tire sling! :xyxthumbs:

:iagree: I absolutely HATE glossy tires! Hyper Dressing @ 3:1 is perfect for a nice, slightly darker than factory, satin, clean look.

What makes Perl so much preferable, for some people...

I use both products and enjoy them both.

I'm not sure how, or why, the two products seem to behave so differently with such similar chemical composition; however, I do prefer PERL on plastic trim much more than Hyper Dressing.

In my testing when PERL and Hyper Dressing are applied undiluted, side-by-side, the PERL has outlasted the Hyper Dressing by several weeks.
 
Like mentioned in some of the above post. I use it 1:1 on tires and 4:1 for the inside of wheel wells. I love the stuff and use it on almost every detail sometimes not on tires by always on the inside of the wheel wells. It does not leave the real shiny look but it makes tires look great and last a decent amount of time. I've used it for years. If you really hate the bottle you have I'll be more than happy for you to send it to me and I'll finish it for you.
 
Though about getting (yet another) garden sprayer for HD, specifically for wheel wells and engines. A pistol with a flexible wand would really help for tighter wheel wells and under engine components.
 
I hope I didn't create a monster here! LOL.

So I CAN admit that I've actually been using it incorrectly. (I didn't dilute it. I will probably do the 1:1 (50/50 Mix?) and try that. But my main goal is to find a Tire Dressing that gives the "wet look" and does so for a considerable length of time. Finding one that lasts longer just gives customers an added reason to choose you again in the future when their car looks better for a longer period of time.
 
Use Meg's All season dressing for tires...
I only use hyper dressing for interior.

Hyper dressing will not last as long as all season dressing and you can also use all season dressing for all exterior plastics.
 
I love me some Hyper Dressing and also use it on most of my details. The vast majority of my customers hate the "wet look", myself included so Hyper Dressing fits the bill perfectly.
 
I tried the hyper dressing due to price. But I found myself being disappointed at how long it lasted. I went back to Perl, it cost more but I liked the look and longevity
 
Maybe you should look into the turtle wax tire coating. I use tuff shine myself, it makes subsequent cleaning of the tires a snap and sheds dirt easily, though I've never gotten a really wet look from it beyond initial application or touchups.

Longevity and high shine don't seem to go hand in hand for tires.
 
I like Hyper Dressing. I dilute and use it in the engine compartment. I get a lot of great feedback from my customers about how there engine looks.
 
Thanks for all the friendly advice guys! I am going to purchase Meg's All Season Dressing next and see how that works!
