Meg's NXT Wax

NXT has some fillers, and some cleaning properties (kaolin). It is known to be very undurable and I would suggest moving to #21 if you want the looks and better protection.

How do you know NXT has kaolin, did your lab test it? Just curious thats all.

I do not have a lab .... (Banker by Day) .... but I did get to see the MSDS sheet. Calcified Kaolin. Do a little search on Megs and you will see where Mike Phillips also offered it, after some hard questions prior to its release.

Not knocking the product to others (I personally did not like it) , its up to each person to understand the product as well as its benefits and weaknesses thats all. Then you can make an educated decision.

A fellow banker :D. I work at a major bank here in Kansas City.
Thanks did not think about the MSDS. Will ask for them.
Learning!
How about Pinnacles MSDS also. Where do I find them?

HMMMMMMM. Fascinating. I've noticed the color change every single time that I've used mine. It looks beautiful when it's first done and then the next day it looks dull and flat. Maybe it has to do with the formulations? I used the paste and you used the liquid.

Killr? The color shift that you observed was it with the paste or the liquid?

I'm almost tempted to get the liquid version to try it and see if it changes colors, but I know that I wouldn't use it now that I have my souveran. It is interesting though. I guess I'm kinda old fashioned in that I always buy paste waxes. I guess I've gotta branch out and try a liquid wax some time. :)

4th Largest Bank in the US .... NC based of course ! 10 years and counting .. thru merger after merger.

MSDS sheets are very hard to come by, need to be pried from the hands of the gods of product themselve. They seem to hide them as if they tell all the secret ingredients. Still cannot get or track one down on Zaino. :p

Jen, only used the liquid NXT. I have a bottle of it and spray wax that you are welcome to as wanted. Never liked, and could not give it away at Detailfest. Color shift is much more apparent on lighter cars. Its not a bad OTC product, but I would still give Mothers Reflections my $$.

Mothers Reflections????

Which one?????

Ok....I'm back.
NXt doe last a LONG time. I guessing you are all going by the "touch" guide of how long it should last. True, it does not feel slick for very long...abou 2-3 days and this is true of a polymer sealant and not that of a organic wax. I use NXT 2-3 times per week and have so on vehicles for over 6 months now. My wife's van has had one application on it for 6 months and still looks good and beads. NXT is more a sealant than a wax. It does have some fillers and cleaners in it but it is one of the purest formulas out there OTC.
The key to NXT is 2 even THIN coats and after sitting for 24 hours, the car will look amazingly different than at buffing it off. This gives it time for the polymers to adhere to the surface.
My recommedation is that you top NXT (after 24 hrs.) with a wax like #26 or any of your choice if you want that feel and beading.

NXT is a great product period. It does last.....a long time.

Well just found the MSDS on Megs stuff. Interesting reading.
Since NXT has kaolin and one applies two thin coats, is that a waste of time?
Seems to me the kaolin will take off the first coat.

Maybe you have to 2nd coat it after it cures to save the first coat??????
or maybe one on top of the other after the first buff??????

So since the Tech Wax has fillers in it is it best to apply it by hand or machine?

I have used the NXT wax allot before I found AG. I liked it good gloss and reflection and to me decent durability, until I found Nattys love at first use. I like to use it on my wifes car because she doesnt take care of it when I deploy, so I havent used my good stuff on a car that wont get taken care of.

To me its still a wax.......NOW that i found it have fillers, i'll machine apply for the first coat for even coverage, and M.F. by hand removal.......:) then apply by hand the 2nd or 3rd.......

Now your thinking, and yes you are correct. Everyone talking about layers of NXT is likely just removing the old. Even the Spray Wax Booster appears to contain kaolin.

So if applying a fresh coat removes the previous coat how often should you reapply the Tech Wax? What would you recommend to do inbetween coats of Tech Wax?

Now remember I dont use it, but if I did I would likely add a new coat every 4-5 weeks like a carnuaba. Inbetween, I would wash with their specific soap and I would consider a very good qd'er with some added protection. Probably Finish Kare 425, or maybe OCW. (I find the latter kinda sterile personally, but it does provide some additional protection).

Now I might also consider adding a spray sealant like Wolfgang, Blackfire, or UPP over NXT also.

The only reason i put down 2 is for coverage....if i keep using NXT then i'll use the spray NXT in between......but knowing me??? i can change product anytime.....as im not alone in that respect..........:p
