After a torrential downpour this past week, and several trips to visit family, the beast was covered in grime and bugs. Correction was done earlier this spring (using Menz SIP/85RD and Flex), so proper washing techniques is all that was needed to maintain the swirl free finish. (FYI, I am still debating whether or not to Optimum Opti-coat 2.0 it yet or not... I still love using my Fuzion and Souveran and Supernatural and 50/50 alternately.... hmmmmmmm)

Process:
2 bucket method
2 grit guards
DP Extreme Foam
ONR (2 capfuls)
OPC for bugs
ARO for rims and tires (Daytona and boar's hair brush)
Sonax High Speed Wax (my new favorite spray wax/drying aid...uber slick) and MF's for drying
2 coats of CG 50/50 (looks and applies as easy as Souveran, but with better flake pop and much better durability)

Now some in-sun close ups to show a swirl free finish and the Honda Nighthawk pearl paint flake. I love that little hint of blue.

That's the nicest looking minivan I have seen!

I really like this shot:

You are not kidding about the downpours we have been getting. I really wanted to get my car detailed this weekend, but no, it had to rain every day, and today is 40+mph wind. I may end up doing an ONR in the garage, but it is supposed to rain again tonight!

hell with that mini van you can expect it to be parked along with bmw's and mercedes at the valet parking! :props:

Absolutely beautiful. Nice job! :dblthumb2: I have CG 50/50 as well but haven't really played with it yet. Looking forward to it though.

I agree with others, this has to be the best looking minivan finish ever. Not to mention it's black which makes it that much harder to keep looking great. :props:

I'm with you on the Nighthawk Black paint. The hint of the blues flakes makes it much more interesting than 'standard' black paint.

very nice "pop". well done.

Thanks bud. I agree, the flake comes out with 85RD and 50/50 quite well.

Hey Bill... thank you for the kind words. I was going to look you up this weekend, since we drove to Des Moines to see family... problem was, we drove right into the heart of that horrid storm yeterday morning at 9:30. That was INsane. Good thing I had the Civic yesterday, and I wasn't worried with Opti-coat on there... it held up quite well :props:

Looks great. Hands down the nicest minivan I have seen.

Looks awesome!!! :xyxthumbs:

Great job!

Thanks for the kind words guys... you guys say it's the nicest minivan you've seen, but only because you guys haven't worked on one just yet :) If you did, I am pretty sure all y'all would do a much better job than I could :dblthumb2:

Can you imagine? If I pull up to a country club next to those cars? I'd be kicked to the curb!!! :D

Thanks Shane! You'll love 50/50. I think it works better on metallics. If you have flat dark colors, I'd say Souveran or Fuzion is probably still best. But I think for metallics, I'd put SSII and 50/50 right up there.

Thanks Mike... you're too kind. Yeah black is a bear to take care of... but it makes it all the more rewarding. Thanks again btw for the 106FA and PO203... but you still need SIP!!! I'll drop off 85RD today or tomorrow ok?

p.s. your Vette is still looking at gorgeous as ever, btw.

Did the Z too.... and wanted to showcase the intense flake popping characteristic of 50/50... love the stuff.
