Menzerna 3 in 1 review in a black Fiat Punto and the Tato Technique

First off, nice picture of your Menzerna collection! I Love it!

Nice review. I found the same attributes when using 3n1. It can be a bit stubborn to remove but nothing a wipedown with one of their QD's can't handle. I also found that the new PP Ultra is a great topper.

I didn't take any pictures of a detail I performed on my wife's car a while back but my process was 3n1 with a white Hybrid pad driven by the PE14. I followed that with PP Ultra on a black Hybrid pad and 3401. I gave it a final wipedown the new ES QD. Boy was that a beautiful combination. That process has also served the paint well through the nasty salty winter.

Thanks a lot Mike! I will try the white with PE14, and the PP Ultra to top it with black, good idea, eh?
In this review, I tried to use as an AIO, and I chose a nasty car specimen to see how far it would go, but solely as a one step. Indeed the 3in1 offer a wide variety of possibilities, I'm extremely impressed with its capabilities. 3in1 with finishing mf, topped with 4500, there are so many ways to use this product, extremely versatile, I humbly think Menzerna nailed it.
Oh, and the ES QD, I'm drooling over it. It is in my wish list for sure. Also, I don't have the 2000, nor the more difficult to find it 2100, 2200, 2300 and 2400. But having the 2100 to 2400 is already pathological obsessive of my part. Thanks for dropping by, all the best!

We have a saying in the states..."all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" translated...get back to enjoying your holiday!!! Hahaha

He has a brand new white BMW waiting for his skilfull hands, so I was told :). There will be a long holiday in late april, I will try to bring him and his family along me and mine to the beach again. By the way, you are invited as well, book up a DFW to GRU, Delta or American, and we'll pick you up. April is lovely time in Brazilian beaches, few rains, a deep blue sky, hot days and cool nights.:dblthumb2:

Excellent results there mate!Enjoyed the write-up as well. Keen to get my hands on this product.

Thanks, mate, I'm glad you enjoyed, I feel you won't be disappointed. :)

Fantastic results! However, there are other polishes that take half the working time and will produce fantastic results as well. Also, I avoid oily products that are hard to remove. With that said, your finished product looks very, very good.

Thanks a lot, Mark, indeed there are. But the 3in1 is a strong competitor, and the hardness of removal maybe it was a lack of talent from my part.

That's really impressive, great work. Great review!!

Mine just arrived today, now I'm really stoked to give it a try. Have a BMW 535 scheduled for this weekend. Guess I'll have to give it a shot!

Ronaldo, firstly happy birthday for yesterday - hope you had a great day:dblthumb2:

Secondly, thanks for taking the time to put this review together - being a huge Menzerna fan it is great to see what the 3-in-1 is capable of (and to get to see your Menz collection) and it definitely looks like it will find a permanent space on my detailing shelf.

Rafael.... are you not supposed to be chilling out with your daughter on holiday instead of browsing AG - go relax my friend - you deserve the break!!!

:dblthumb2:

In response to the paint transfer you noticed, some newer clear coats are tinted. Definitely a possibility rather than actual base coat being removed.

Mike, as a stand alone, is anyone using it and allowing it to cure like a wax prior to removal?
What I think I am seeing i the above post it that this is being used like a compound/polish because the OP is looking for a certain result, but the AIO moniker means to apply it, work it in and let it sit?

Mike, Chime in please, because you know me and Menzerna, I love the stuff and I want to check this 3 in 1 out.

HUMP

I haven't use 3 in 1, but I use SF 4000. After polishing (once SF 4000 breaks down and leave a clear yet a oily surface), I let it sit and get dry. Use two microfiber towels, one to clean and other to buff, just like I would do after waxing. Result is amazing smooth finish.

@ RPM BR: What I learn from Mike Phillips, IPA wipe down is only necessary if you're doing a coating or LSP requires a chemically strip. Why not try above mentioned technique and see how it goes?? (Since I don't have 3 in 1, I can't try it myself) ;)

To Lawrence: Thanks for the input, my South African friend!
Being a Menz fan, you'll sure love it!

To Anthony: OK, I didn't know about tinted clearcoats, thanks a lot for the info!

To Swift: Thanks friend, I will try the Swift method. Never thought about treating a polisher the same way as wax or sealant. I'll do that, for sure.

It is a real pleasure to be part of this forum, I never had a polishing course, almost everything I learned, I learned here.
I'm addicted to AGO.
Wish we could have this giant, international bbq with all the members.
Even my Brazilian friend/mentor, which happens to live 65 miles from me, I met here.
I admire the positive attitude towards anybody, any doubt and from any place, presented here. I also enjoy to follow the occasional clash of egos, which I find very entertaining.
I learned here to share my little knowledge with other local detailers, instead of keeping to myself, afraid of competition.
Simply put, AGO is the best place in the world for a detailer to be. America in its best. RPM

I was thinking about ordering some of this 3in1. I have some chemicalguys hexlogic pads. What CG pad would you guys recommend using with this 3in1 on a black Mustang with some moderate swirls and RIDS?

I would start off with whatever is there polishing pad. Perhaps it's white?

If there are RIDS in the paint your are better off starting with a compound such as FG400 and then finishing with 3n1 on a polishing pad.

Or start with 3n1 on a polishing pad and then move onto a glaze such as blacklight to help cover the RIDS.

Fantastic work on your part, well written review as well.

Thank you, Kevin! I always follow your posts and have been to your site before, it is a real pleasure to me that you liked, I feel honored!
I was thinking about publishing another review, a smaller one, about an experiment I did with my own car, I topped a SiO2 based coating with PBL coating. I always wondered about overcoating, especially topping silica coating with ceramic. There is little info about it, and my car is my guinea pig :)

Excellent review, it showed the ability of Menzerna 3n1 on a finish that would of normally be finished out in a two step compounding process. Further illustrates, that Menzerna 3n1 would quickly finish out on most daily drivers that haven't been so abused. It's no suprise, I have never been disappointed with any of the Menzerna products I use. Thanks again, was a very good read with excellent results considering what you had to work with.

Mike, I got some this weekend at DetailFest, it was actually the first booth I hit. Grabbed some SC300 as well!!

That's how I've been using it, with excellent results and it's been very easy to remove.

Did this 535 with the Menzerna 3-n-1 With my Rupes 75, used LC Orange Flat Pad then topped the Menzerna with WG 3.0 and Fuzion. So this beauty got the whole German Treatment.

Thanks a lot, mate, it was a pleasure to write about it!
Indeed it is a good option for a classy quick'n'slick fix for daily drivers.
I just don't use the 3in1 when I coat it after, because you can see/feel the strong presence of the sealant in its formula.
I've been coating a lot lately, SiO2 based coating, the candy look and its increased resistance to abrasion is becoming a trend around here.
I also have been using a lot of the Menz 2500 as an AIO, it will go good on my PE14, Flex and Rupes, and the cutting/finishing ratio will depend on the choice of pad densities. I suspect the 3in1 is based on the 2500, along with some PL. I mostly use hybrids, they are addicting as nicotine :).
