First off, I'd like to thank Corey for sending me a sample of the Menz PL !
So lately we have heard a lot about Menz PL and that a lot of members use and like it. So I wanted to do a side by side comparison to really compare the application, removal, feel and look of both of these sealants. I decided using the hand prep and application method because A: its a small panel and B: I wanted to apply the sealants a little thicker than a machine to get a better feel for the removal process. I don't do duability test, otherwise I'd have enough sealants and waxes to last thru the year 12,000AD
So Mom's trunk became the test panel for this. Started off with WG Paintwork Polish Enhancer!
Then a simple tape line with MPL applied to the left and WG DGPS to the right.
I allowed The sealants to dry for about an hour give or take ten min.
Afters:
My thoughts:
Application: Very easy on both parts with the WG allowing the foam applicator to glide just a hair easier.
Removal: Both equally effortlessy. Remember I applied both a bit thicker than I normally would also. By easy I mean no pressure and one swipe!
Slickness: Equal again. To note: That when rubbing the MF across the area where no sealant was applied, I felt a considerable bit more drag on that half inch area. So both products do add a good amount of "slickness"
Looks: I really wish I chose a different color or had a better camera for this....so you are gonna have to take my word.
From close up(3-5 feet) they looked exactly the same. When standing back a bit(say 5+ feet) the WG had a more 3D shine and made the paint look deeper. It seemed to make it look a bit richer. The Menz from farther away seemed to give the look that something was on the paint adding shine and not part of the paint. Kind of like plastic film was placed on the paint. Still looked very nice but this is what I would consider the "Hard Candy Coating" look typical of a sealant.
After inspecting 24 hours later: Both the slickness and apperance of both sides did not change that I was able to notice.
Winner....... Thats for you to decide if you like a deeper 3D look or the Hard Candy Coating look. Otherwise, I find both of these products a breeze to both apply and remove.
Thanks for looking guys and girls!
