Menzerna PO85rd

5000-6000 is faster than speed 2 or 3, correct?

I would imagine it is ..........

I'm looking at a bottle of 85rd and no where does it state to use speed 2-3. It states using 1200-1800 rpm.

I read it when looking up some specifics earlier today on the net. I realize it doesn't say this on the bottle. The 2-3 speed was site specific & I'll see if I can't find what I read & post it here.

If you imagine that 5000-6000 opm is more than speed 2-3 why would you say no more than speed 2-3? I don't own a Flex DA so I don't know what speed 2-3 equals in terms of opm, but with 6 speeds, 2-3 sounds to be way under 5000-6000 opm. I've used a Griot on speed 5 and that's about 6000 opm.

I think I probably mispoke with the 2-3 setting for polishing speed. 2-3 would be nothing more than spreading the product and 4 + for working the product. It's been a long day so my apologies for the misinfo on my end ....

Hey Kovalchuck why did you deny 101 million over 11 years lol

Because 101 million is no where near enough for detailing supplies! :xyxthumbs::buffing:

Oh and if anyone is interested, I have a 95% full bottle of PO85rd I want to get rid of.

I've never found it to really matter. Soft, medium or hard; they both work great IMHO on all paint.

:iagree:I find no difference between the two. Did they not change 87mc to Final Polish II?

I used 105/205 on my black C6 last night on a section of the door where there was a ton of scratches like a cat had a pillow fight on it. The 205 with the white pad left a ton of holograms that I couldn't seem to clear up, so I switched to a grey pad and it cleaned it up about 90% but I could still see the 10%. After following up with the deep gloss sealant it seemed to clear it up alot, so it could have just been left over oils from the polish.

I've been meaning to try the 85rd but it's expensive for the amount that you get and I just have been ordering extra towels instead, LOL.

Is it really worth it!?

Did you do an IPA wipe down after 205? Sounds like Wolfgang 3.0 just covered up the marring. On black paint I would get 85rd.

+1 ...... it's my favorite for a reason.

I just braved the cold to take a couple of pics of my own ride. I polished the car to remove some fine scratches last Sunday & haven't applied any sealant/wax yet. Actually it still needs to be wiped down first. The effect of the 85RD is awesome on the darker colors.
