Not that the don't give good results with a DA, but they break down at a snails pace compared to a rotary.

Hey Mark, quick question:

I take it you like the PE-14? What did you not like about the 3403 that you do about the PE-14?

Oh yeah, and DAT abrasives do love a rotary. Ask anybody at Meguiar's about their M8x line. Maybe one day I'll play with a rotary and experience that.

I saw a nice reduction in work time when I started working Menzerna at speed 5.5+ from speed 5 on my Flex DA.

Now you are probably ready to find out what 85rd can really do.

But first check out the rotary videos on Detailing World by Dave KG, to see how long you can work 85rd. Just don't rush it..

Learning to jewel paint is a great way to learn the in and outs of your new Flex. Try it with a black Kompressor pad and be prepared to use more 85rd than you do on your DA and master the zenith technique.

Yeah Mark, rotaries take quite a bit of time out of the process once you get familiar with 'em.

Mark, rotaries rock! Faster correction and yet jeweling takes it to another level. Wait till you try it with wool...

Mark, can't wait to see pictures of your first burn through. J/J just keep it moving.

I've always wanted to see a SMAT product that could compete with PO85rd thereby making it way more DA friendly. I think CG new V38 optical finishing polish comes very, very close...and its FAST with a DA polisher and their new MF finishing pad. Close enough for me to put PO85rd on the shelf for a while. I don't have a rotary and frankly have never needed one...but PO85rd drives me crazy using it with a DA. I love the results but its too time consuming using a DA for my taste.

I learned on a rotary and then bought a 3401. well got to tell you it takes 3 times longer to do same job and sometimes cannot get same results with 3401. Now I know the first thing to be said is my technique, well I have seen all video numerous times and my conclusion is that the 3401 just is not aggressive enough to get out some of the paints problems I run into. I have tried all different pads and the rotary just gets the job done so much faster. The reason I got the 3401 was I hate the messy clean up of rotary. I always end up going back to my hitachi rotary.

A few very interesting points here, thanks.
