Menzerna Powerlock - a little test

I really had not noticed that PL was much different in that area compared to WGDPS or BFWD. I think I need to do a test myself.

I'm going to test those two next, along with some Old School FMJ for fun. But, I at least expected it to be similar to EX-P - wasn't even close. I mean, strait Griots Paint Prep wouldn't remove it. That stuff is supposed to remove "polymer-silicone" LSPs.

IMO Menz PL is alot stronger durability wise than WGDGPS 3.0 . As a matter of fact, it doesnt even come close to PL. When I was testing M21 vs DGPS, after 1 month & 2 weeks of application, both where holding up equally well. I have a small sample of PL that I used on my interior trim. With that said, PL is on another level durability wise than DGPS IMO. Cant wait to see your results.

What do you all recommend as a "topper" or gloss "booster" between washes when PL is your LSP? How would things like AquaWax or OCW work? Even if PL is as durable as they say, a little boost once a month or so can't hurt. Has anyone use a spray product over PL?

+1 on that. I'm interested in the same info...

I've always topped it with a paste wax - P21S 100% Carnuba. However, I'm sure any spray wax/sealant would work just fine. Since it's a sealant, I would probably want to top it with something with a little carnuba in it. Flitz, Griots, Zymol Field Glaze, Pinnacle, EcoTouch Spray Waxes all have some carnuba (I believe) and all are very good.

I haven't had good luck with Optimum Spray Wax.

My two sealants are PL and WGDPS. Would love to hear which is the better, if either.

Always enjoyable to read your reviews. I really like PL also, it is so easy to use and two coats work great.

Ive used OCW as a topper and as a maintenance between applications and ive run into no problems that way.

For PL, i topped it with its twin Color Lock Carnauba. Love the combo. Its been 2 months since i applied Color Lock and loving that extra wetness it gives to my charcoal metallic paint.:xyxthumbs:

So you tested M21 and WG on the outside of the car, and PL on the inside of the car, and concluded that PL was more durable? :dunno:

Ok... I'm starting Act II

However, I still had to "clear the board" from Act I, Scene II

As a reminder it goes L to R: EXP (sealant), Natty's (wax), and PowerLock

Let's clean the old LSPs off the board using Griot's Paint Prep (water on the board directly below):

Paint Prep sprayed 4-5 sprays and "worked in" with a new blue towel with about 10lbs of pressure or so. I worked it in very well in attempt to remove the products.

Board w/ "worked in" Paint Prep. Let it just sit with PP for a few minutes after working it in:

Now, lets see what Paint Prep can remove.

The claims of Paint Prep:

I've used this product before and it works well.

The board after Paint Prep and rinsing well with water. Notice, Natty's and EX-P are dead. PowerLock is beading like nothing touched it:

Lets try to remove the PowerLock with some more products.

After Meg's APC+ 1:4:

Nope.

How about Grime Reaper 1:5?

After Grime Reaper:

Still beading well.

How about Sonus All in 1? This product removes wax at 1:30. I've used it for that, it works:

I'll use it 1:10

Is PowerLock gone?

Nope. Still beading well!

How about this product - CarPro Eraser. Now this product can "make or break" your coating. Many have relied on it to remove traces of old LSPs / Polishes so their coating can stick to 100% clean paint.

After Eraser (Eraser was rubbed in like others):

PowerLock is still going strong! Beading may be diminished 10-15%, MAYBE. However, none of these products are coming close to removing it.

Maybe this is why my OptiCoat failed.

Also, my PowerLock is OLD. I think I bought it the month it came out

Forget WGDGPS vs PL. Lets see OC2.0 vs PL!

Man oh man. I cant believe PL is still there after going through all those cleanings!

Wow is right. Now I really want to see WGDGPS vs PL.

I'll be doing those tests. I'm not sure if
your seeing the pictures upside down. I'm using the new TAPATALK 2 App. It seems it has some issues, regular TAPATALK always worked fine. I'll be switching back.

It seems the pictures are correct on my IPhone, but on the computer they are looking sideways or upside down.
