Microfiber cleaning comparision

I don't know but I suspect none of the microfiber cleaners will remove stains. I don't really care as long as the towel is clean. Micro-Restore has worked great for me but does not really remove the stains.

i have used cg and dp. The dp works better takes out stains.

:iagree:

I have asked the question various times. What is the chemical composition of ALL the microfiber cleaners that companies market that makes it so great. I have found that TIde, Arnolds Soap and the various brands have the same cleaning ability as the so called dedicated mf soaps. Do we have any chemist that could reverse engineer the mf products and give us all an answer.

This is just like the "pad conditioners" LOL

Honestly, MF cleaners are the snake oil of the detailing industry. Tide free and clear will work perfect. However, I still choose to use a dedicated MF cleaner.

A little off subject but note to self.

Don't wash new black microfibers with the rest of your microfibers!!!

I wish I read this 3 month ago. I washed the one that came with the the Megs UW... :nomore:

+1. Use regular clear Woolite or Tide clear. Then, I "wash" a second time with no detergent to remove any detergent residue or soap that could be on the towels. I do the second rinse wash with warm water and add vinegar on the final rinse. Then I dry on medium heat. The extra rinse and the vinegar make all the difference for me. Towels come out very clean and soft feeling. I'd try some micro detergent, but I just cant see ordering detergent through the mail.

+1 :iagree:

i hate to ressurect an old thread, but i will anyhow:wow:

before using micro restore, i used tide...the only issue I had was it appeared that the towels left a greasy residue on the paint. i started using micro restore and the issue appears to have resolved itself...however, since micro restore, i've been soaking my towels pre wash in a bucket with micro restore...reason being, i have a front load washer...i dont think the water level was getting high enough with only my mf towels in there, therefore not cleaning enough.

also, ive recently purchased some cobra micro fibers. i was previously using the cookie monsters..not a fan at all..so i dont know whether the cookie monster with the tide was the culprits or the lack of water in the wash machine..either way, ill prolly try soaking in tide once the micro restore is gone and see if it makes a difference.

.i dont think the water level was getting high enough with only my mf towels in there, therefore not cleaning enough.

Pre-soaking is a good idea.

Front loaders regulate the amount of water so you need to match the detergent to the load (you can put in too much) since it may not rinse out completely. You can consider just washing twice (back to back).

Adding vinegar during the rinse process should help rinse better.

Have traditionally used Micro-Restore, but for last several months have been using DP's. Both worked well, but I prefer the DP product.

What's is wrong with the regular detergent ? I never used MF cleaner, always wash mine on hot and dry on hot, they still look great.

Same here. I use Tide soap and if the towels are really dirty I will add a little Super Clean. Seems to work.

Micro Restore and Woosh are great. (Woosh is available over the counter in Canada, but it's hard to find)

Sometimes I spot treat the towels with some Poorboy's APC 6:1

do you guys who dry your MF in the dryer not get static?

ive been hanging mine to dry in an attempt to get rid of any static..

I am about to place and order for some Microfiber cleaner.
In checking the different brands I found that the dilution seems to be about the same for all but the price per ounce on Pinnacle is very high,. In fact as much as 50% higher than others.

Is there something that the Pinnacle Product does that the other brands do not do ?

Costs are based upon gallon size. If you buy the small sizes the prices really get wacky , but I guess i now know how they can do two fers so easily. The Pinnacle actually goes for as much as 97 cents per ounce in the 16 oz bottle.

Pinnacle @ 39 cents per ounce
Micro-Restore @ 27 cents per ounce
Detailers Pride @ 27 cents per ounce
Chemical Guys @ 26 cents per ounce

I use Micro-Restore and like it allot. Towels come clean an fluffy.

What's is wrong with the regular detergent ? I never used MF cleaner, always wash mine on hot and dry on hot, they still look great.

You can use regular detergent but just make sure it is unscented, bleach free and fabric softner free. Those ingredients will affect the towels ability to absorb and will cause streaking.
