Microfiber Detergent is it really necessary?

give a mf detergent a shot and see if you notice any difference, there are several for under $20...

I do my PFM towel and MF with ALL free & clear packs. Never had a issue.

In 20 years I've never used a dedicated MF towel cleaning product. All free and clear packets plus white distilled vinegar as the softener work perfectly every darn time.

I've started using Optimum Power Clean to wash microfiber and am so far very impressed.

3D Towel Kleen...easy choice, look into it and you'll be glad you did.

I've used Towel Kleen, and currently use it as a presoak. However it contains optical brighters which are not desirable on microfiber.

Nearly all commercial detergents contain these, including the Tide "clear" version. I would suspect the All version does as well, but haven't tested it.

I've started using 3D Towel Kleen after seeing it recommended a number of times on here. For $20 per gallon, it's a decent value. Seems to do a good job cleaning the towels, but I can't say I see a difference over the free & clear laundry detergent I was using previously.

However, it's a multi-purpose product. Diluted at 4:1 it can be used as a pad cleaner, so I use it to pre-soak, then wash my pads as well.

I had just started machine polishing, and was reading about how to clean pads and came across that use of Towel Kleen. So I figured for $20, might as well give it a try and use it for both towels and pads.

3D Towel Kleen here!

I've been using it ever since I heard about it. To me it's inexpensive, and it does the job it's supposed to do. I can't ask for anything more than that. The biggest test is always using my Glass towels and noticing no streaking what-so-ever.

I'm going to keep using it, because it simply works.

Yeah I've used that to I'm adding it but it's more expensive then most microwashes

I've been using the chemical guys stuff it's pretty good. It's just liquid but it foams up really well. 128oz for 20 bucks and u only need 1-2 ounces per load

Just to clarify, when you say you're using it as a pre soak, you mean you're spraying it out of a spray bottle onto the pads right?

Because if you're using it as a bucket pre soak that would mean you'd be using 77oz. of Towel Kleen diluted into a 3 gallon bucket, which would be the biggest waste of product ever. Lol. [I know you aren't doing that]

+1, been happy with the Chemical Guys Microfiber Wash.

When I started I used All Free and Clear, good results really can't say anything bad about it. Some time ago I got a 16oz bottle of Poorboy's World Typhoon Microfiber Cleaner, great stuff. I am working on a gallon now, I feel it does make a difference in the way the towel feels.

I also have been using Chemical Guys microfiber wash and pad cleaner for years. My towels are always soft and plush and never lint. I'm sure there are plenty of stuff that will get the job done but I love what I'm using.

I also own 4 Optimum big red sponges and use the microfiber cleaner to get them clean too. Good stuff

I use CG MF wash and it's good. Tried Poorboys MF Cleaner and felt the towels didn't come out as soft.

I don't really notice a difference, but then again I've never done actual testing. I find the price per wash for regular liquid Tide is comparable to my wholesale price of Micro Restore, so I just use the Micro Restore because I know it's free of things I don't want in my soap, Like Bunky mentioned above.
