Sorry if this one has been asked or if I'm late to the game, but here goes anyways, LOL. So I haven't had to restock in a while and just noticed Lake Country now has microfiber pads. I've got a white Ford truck and a black Harley for which M105 and a white or black pad are my go-to products. My vehicles are never in bad shape (I'd personally categorize the paint as perfect) so it's more maintaining from year to year (after winter) than it is really any correction.

But I have always read very very great things about the Meuiars micro fiber system and then while shopping for new pads, I noticed LC had these out. Would this be a good move for me? Are they worth trying? Should I even expect anything different from them compared to my white pads? When used with the same product, how would the surface finish out say comparing the LC microfiber pad to a white pad? Thanks guys for any info.

Microfiber cutting pads like those offered by Meguiar's are going to offer much more cutting ability than a white or black foam pad (assuming you're talking about LC foam pads). Are you looking to remove severe defects or do you just want something to maintain your paint with that can remove light defects? The MF discs, while excellent at what they do, are going to remove quite a bit of paint each time you use them with M105. It's best to perform aggressive corrections like this as little as possible for the sake of paint preservation. Once a vehicle has been corrected, it really should just be maintained with proper washing/drying technique and maybe a light polish or cleaner product once in a while. If you just want a maintenance product combo like I mentioned, I would suggest a fine polish or cleaner wax/sealant and a finishing pad.

And you know what...I misspoke. I meant to say M205. Sorry if that changes your reply.

Ah yes that changes quite bit. Meguiar's does have a dedicated microfiber pad just for finishing. I haven't used it personally as I like to use foam for finishing but maybe someone else can chime in with their experience. My guess is that you won't notice very much difference using different finishing pads.

I've been using Rupes Microfiber pads. Even before I had a Rupes machine.

The Lake Country are designed for both cutting and polishing. They're very nice pads too.

The Meguiar's are also very nice. Can't really go wrong with any of them. Meguiar's requires the use of a "micro hook" backing plate with their pads.

Lake Country MF pads work best with "dry" polishes, like M105. They tend to struggle a bit with "wet" polishes, like FG400.

My favorite MF pads are Buff & Shine, Meguiars, and Optimum.

I like the megs pads because the foam material is firmer.

I didn't like the LC pads with M105. They were awesome with D300, and SCG Beyond Clay.

I probably used too much product, because that thing just gummed up and chattered like crazy.

i have been using Meguiar's MF cutting discs for years. i tried the Griot's FAST mf cutting disc and might be retiring the Meguiar's pads.

There fast MF cutting pads are a cutting machine.

What I like about them there is no foam interface to Delaminate like on the megs discs.

The fast cutting and Boss cutting pads are my favorite right now

I really need to pick some of those up..

Are these Griots Fast Microfiber pads different from the Boss Microfiber pads with a hole?
And if anyone could post a quik pic of the Boss Microfiber Pads from a sideview I'd appreciate it. TIA.

I'm curious to see what they look like if there's no foam interface on those pads.

There griots 6 is one of my favorite machines.

I absolutely love using that thing

agreed! GG6 + G21 =

The Boss MF pads are my favourite and I am yet to put the fast MF ones to use.
Autogeek has a 6 pack offer (on boss pads) at an incredible price and further discount coupon on top.

Also new to the scene are carpro MF pads and I am going to pick a few to see how they compare.

I like Meguiars ones too, just that they Matt down more easily than the Boss ones. The Boss ones are also close to an exact fit on the BP so feels more powerful to move around.
