"But ONLY if you are registered at Costco as a business, which cost you even more every year".

Believe it or not, last week was my very 1st time inside a Costco. Lol.
The only reason I went was because my buddy had to go shopping/run errands and I decided to tag along. That's when I thought, hey I've always heard about those towels they sell for cheap! Which really made me want to go:)

So did u pick some up?? :)

Of course! :)

I should've bought 2 packs. But now I know I can get em.

Ur lucky u can get them local!!

I also ordered a 5 pack of those 800gsm Everest towels!!!....they look soo nice....I wasn't even thinking of using them for drying but I may have to try it....I was just gonna use them for my final spray wax wipedown

Yea MFT is technically in San Diego but they're literally by the Mexico border. I don't frequent that area often but one day I'll have to visit their warehouse. Be like a kid in a candy store.

I do want to try those Everests out but the white color puts me off. I'd have to wash them separately from all my other towels and they'll stain easily. Such a nice looking towel though.

Nice, San Diego/MFT is a lot closer to me then TRC so I'm sure shipping would be super fast....I'm definitely ordering from them next time.

Yea the white isn't my first choice on towel color, but since they'll only be touching clean paint I don't see it being a big problem....they're definitely priced great too being that they look exactly like the Adam's double soft but for 1/3 of the price

I beg to differ about the "looped vs split" being the reason cheaper rags make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I have plenty -- several dozen? -- better or best quality looped pile towels and they simply don't grab my hands. I didn't state that one country of origin is better or worse at this. But I can tell you that all cheap, no-name rags do it. The Kirkland Golds do not. None of my Cobras do it, not the Golds nor the Purples nor any others. Neither do any of my Avalanches or Everests or Split Purplenalities or Nite Riders or Coal Miners or any of TRC's new bargain Chinese towels.

There is SOO much good information in this thread. The admins should consider making it a sticky.

Anyway... I got my MFT 360's and 530's in the mail today and immediately put them to work after washing them. Wow. Particularly the MFT 530, wow. If they were colored grey and had the same edge on them, I would have a very hard time distinguishing them from the Cobra 530 sold on AG. They are slightly softer and, here's the big one, $4.59(!!) per towel cheaper. A real good buy here. Thanks for the advice, Cardaddy.

Some of us still like to stick to the rules, but as we can see some of us want to go our own way and dont give two sh*** and ruin it for others 1tim 3 1-5 critical times.

So, to answer your question - we care, a lot.

If you don't care for our rules, well, find somewhere else to post then. :dblthumb2:

I picked up a three pack of the Griots Speed Shine towels this summer. I use them for applying spray waxes. They seem nice but not really cost effective.

Has anyone used these and what would be a more economical replacement?

If you have, what GSM do you think they are?

Griot's Garage Speed Shine Micro Fiber Cloths, Griots Speed Shine Cloths, Griots Garage Microfiber Towels

i don't have any of them but my guess is they are around/close to 600gsm judging by the pics...

Yeah, I think that pic makes them look a little thicker than they are. I just don't have much to compare them to other than my cheap all purpose ones and a couple plusher discount store ones. The discount store ones aren't too bad so far, but they do lint some and I mostly use them below the belt line. Next year I'll buy some bulk ones once I figure out what I want.

Eurow Double Density towels of MFT 600s would be my choice of towel.

Not wanting to start a new thread on this... should really check out TRC's new Pluffle drying towel. It's a combo traditional MF towel but also waffle weave. I personally like it for rinseless washes using Meguiars Rinse Free Express Wash, rinseless car wash, no rinse. They hold a TON of water and serve a dual purpose. You can use them in the bucket and you can use them to dry.

I hate towels with the silk edges.... edgeless is WAAY better IMO
