I finally was able to arrange for Shon’s car to come in for an Opti-Coat job after doing a few vehicles for his friend due to some scheduling conflicts between Shon, his friend, and I.

This was one that had me tied up before: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/63924-white-645ci-vs-d151.html

Now that I had Shon’s car it was time for the car to receive some of my TLC. Overall the car wasn’t in very bad shape. Just the typical swirls, water spots, etc. There was a few nasty water spots on the hood and those came up with a bit more finessing. This job took roughly 8 hours from start to finish.
Thanks for bringing in the car Shon and keep the referrals coming. J

With the wheels being Powder Coated the same color as the car it makes it harder to see the typical brake dust so commonly found on BMW's.

Comments and Critique welcome.

Stunning, Mike!!! :props:

The paint looked more hazy than severe swirling?

1-step with a compound and heavy cutting pad! Hard paint, eh?

Wow, that's a great looking BMW. Great work as Mike.

Amazing work Mike! The BMW looks so sick and you made it even better. The outside shots are looking dripping wet.

Thanks Mark!!!

There was a fair bit of Haziness in the paint along with the swirling.

This paint was on the hard side. My first attempt with the blue hybrid pad wasn't giving the correction I was after. After jumping to the orange pad I was getting my desired correction results and after giving it 6-8 section passes I was also getting some nice finishing ability with the setup.

Wow, that's a great looking BMW. Great work as Mike.

Thanks Vin!!!

Thank you for the compliment Marc!

It is always a joy to work on modded BMW's.

Awesome work as always Mike, you're extremely talented. Uber bummed I couldn't make it over for this one  Doing good with your new D3200 as well! You've got great shots. :props:

Mike, do you ever have any troubles with the OG/OC bonding when using Eraser as wipedown?

I have heard a few people say the anti-static properties may hinder bonding but have seen many many more people using it with good results.

BTW great work!

Well Mike you never disappoint with your work. Fantastic job!

Beautiful job on a beautiful car as usual Mike. Nice!!

I see your writeup states the exhaust was protected with V7 - and guessing you may have done the original polish. Interested in what was used there. :dblthumb2:

Thanks, Mike, for sharing another example of your craftsmanship!!
You are, indeed, a: Detailing-Artisan. :props:

IMHO...Due to these above personal traits of yours:
-This particular BMW has been made into a vehicle that, seemingly,
appears to have been sculpted from the finest Bavarian marble.

Then:
-Unmistakably highly-polished to world renowned lapidarists'-standards into a flowing shape:

-A shape that melds this vehicle's harmonious architecture with an
advent that not only captures the eyes, but the heart as well.

Ausgezeichnet!!!

Thanks for the compliments Parker. It was fun to work on.

This camera thing is my newest hobby and it goes hand in hand with detailing IMO.

Thanks Drew!

I havent had any troubles with it bonding as I have always seen OC2.0 flash into the surface since I have used Eraser. I only have issues when applying to heavy then I chase it with a mf.

Well Mike you never disappoint with your work. Fantastic job!

Thanks Evan! I try to continually further my abilities.

Thanks buddy!!

Since this exhaust was recently put on it was not very dirty with soot.

I was able to clean it up and protect it with V7. I do have P21s (because of your review) but it was not needed for this job.

That car looks. I love the wheels!

Thank you!! The wheels suit the car nicely.

Thank you for the compliments Bob. You are a man of great words. :xyxthumbs:

Now if only the owner would give it a slight lowering, it would flow ever so nicely...

Yet again awesome work! Watching/ learning from you in person Mike is about the only reason I'd go to Vegas!!! (Nothing against Vegas, I'm just not a hot weather person)

Thanks for the compliment! I'm not much of a hot weather person either but the lack of rain and bad weather is a plus.

I will be moving to Germany come August.

I have to tell you, you do AMAZING work! Looks fantastic:)
