This vehicle was brought to me from a fellow BMW owner named Mike after watching my detailing threads over on Bimmerpost. I always post my work in my local BMW Las Vegas Chat thread as others over there follow my work and use my advice. With Mike following my work for the past year he has always been interested and intrigued by my work done and decided to contact me to bring his car over to “Mike’s Detail Shop” for some TLC. Mike has always wanted his car to shine and has taken the car to the local wash jockey’s to satisfy that clean car itch in the past. This time he decided to get serious and get it done right….

I received the car Saturday afternoon and got to work on the wash step just before the sun went down. It took roughly 2 hours to get the car prepped after all the steps. I closed up shop (garage) and left the car outside for the night with plans on doing a wipe down in the morning before the correction step and went in for the night. Sunday morning came quicker than expected and shortly after the alarm went off I awoke to booming noise of thunder. When getting outside I saw that it was raining and went in to check the forecast. Seeing that it was going to be just the early morning quick shower and a chance in the afternoon I went back out to the garage and performed a waterless wash with UWW+ on my BMW to pass the time. When I finished the rain had stopped and I just moved the wife’s wagon outside so only one black BMW would get wet if it decided to rain later. I pulled the silver car in and got to work. Come lunch time I looked outside to see dark clouds rolling in. I stopped and went in for lunch and after returning outside I was standing next to the wagon watching it get rained on. My neighbors come home and pointed and laughed as my wife’s wagon was getting rained on. I asked if they would mind if I borrowed the garage so the car was out of the rain and the husband said it was fine. I quickly moved his DD Civic into the rain and the wagon into the garage where I could perform a UWW+ wash to keep the water spots at bay. After getting it taken care of I returned to the project car to finish the job. For the rest of the day the wagon stayed in the garage as the rain passed and I retrieved it before going in for the night.

Sorry for going into length about the job but I thought a few guys would get a kick out of my car getting rained on. BTW, I do this from home and am not on an hourly rate. So taking a bit longer wasn’t an issue as I met my deadline with the customer.

The face of the wheel was pretty clean but the barrels tell a different story. Uber at its best!

I dont have any 50/50 pics but the swirling was evident and very hard to capture. I did run across this scratch and was able to knock it down. It was very deep that caught my nail but after few passes it was reduced.

I thought it was hard to achieve gloss on light silver?

Another awesome job Mike! It's definitely hard to make silver pop, looks great.

It would be on the one day we get rain

Amazing job yet again, Mike! You made that silver paint pop!

That's awesome that your neighbors let you in their garage while their garage sat outside while raining.

Excellent work Mike. Your photography skills continue to improve. I take it the new camera is doing you well. :dblthumb2:

Great results mate , happen to have a silver ride , inspiring as well .

Funny story about your Beamer getting rained on and your neighbors laughing about it then able to use their garage! The recent heat wave and then rain?? Humidity must've jumped to....15%?

Seriously Mike, beautiful results as usual and the silver shine is amazing.
Great photos too.

Thank you Marc!! I thought it was tough to make silver pop.

They laughed at me because they know I'm anal about my BMW's and I asked if I could borrow the garage so the wagon didn't get wet and the husband said it was fine. I was shocked.

Looking good Mike:xyxthumbs:

Thank you sir!

Thanks Nick. I really enjoy this new hobby of photography and find that it goes really well with detailing. All of my pictures are un edited and taken straight from the camera.

Thank you sir! Hope I could inspire you.

Lovely work as usual Mike

Thanks Lawrence.

Thank you Steve. I thought you guys would laugh at me because of a little bit of rain. Hope everyone enjoyed the extended read about it.

The little bit of humidity was killer! On Thursday I will get a taste of real humidity as I am going back home to Saint Louis to visit family before my trip to Germany.

Excellent work with amazing results. I would have to say that is becoming the norm. Enjoy reading your post and your picture taking skills. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

Thanks Chris. I put a lot of time in my write ups and work to really document what goes on along the way. Hopefully it makes sense and others can follow along to achieve similiar results.

Excellent job, but you know that :). Looks fantastic Mike.

Thanks Kevin. Much Appreciated.

Nice job Mike! I see you got your PTG

Thank you Evan. This is rms64 or Rob's PTG. I am borrowing it to get some readings for topic later on.

Don't forget to buy mosquito repellant, it's those I'll annoying things that bite and then make you scratch till it hurts! It's a bumper crop this year.
Trip to Germany to stay or visit?

Great work as always Mike. I've always enjoyed your write ups and quality pictures.

Lmk when you release your "how to detail any BMW" detail book. I'm sure you have the blueprint to every BMW by now :D

Man I forgot about those little bugers! Some mosquito repellant will be in use.

Uncle Sam needs me in Germany so will be moving in mid September. Going to stay a minimum of 4 years. Hopefully longer.

Thanks Vin!! Glad you enjoy my work. I try to change it up and add more of a story to my work to break it up from the norm.

I keep it up and I could just copy and paste into a book. It really does benefit me being integrated with local car clubs.

LOL! I didn't even see that. I was too tired when I posted that. I meant car.

I see you havent been very busy down there? Heat that bad?
