Afternoon
Seeing as you guys seem to appreciate a tuned car or two, I thought I would share one of last years memorable jobs
It was booked with me for a full valet, so interior, exterior and engine bay work with the owner allowing me to use my discretion in terms of what was needed and possible in a six hour period (dictated by weather and light conditions in our lousy UK climate)
Inspection shots
Plenty of fuel stains from the exhaust outlets and the usual kind of road grime to obscure the pearl white finish
The Mine's titanium exhaust was clearly in need of a thorough de-coke
The front end was thankfully free of bug splatter
So with the inspection completed, the car was moved outside to get the wash routine underway. First up was the wheels, tyres and arches
The 20" Rays were gently cleaned using Angelwax car shampoo with a range of brushes, whilst the tyres and arch liners were cleaned with Bilt-Hamber Surfex
Next up was the fuel flap, boot surrounds and door shuts
The car was then washed using a two bucket system, Angelwax car shampoo, rinsed decontaminated with Autosmart Tardis and Car-Chem De-Ironiser, re-rinsed and towel dried leaving me with this
Time to tackle the fuel stains, parking scuffs and other love touches that this GTR had picked up in Japan and the UK
This was a quick 50/50 of the exhaust staining, with the brighter half showing the results of Autosmart Evo 1 by hand
Next up was the engine bay. In truth it didn't need a lot of improvement but the inner wings, bulkhead and bonnet underside were cleaned, all brightwork was polished and sealed and the rubber & plastics were treated too
The Mine's exhaust was hand polished using Car-Chem and Kleers metal polish
The alloys and calipers were sealed with FK1000p and the tyres were dressed with Autosmart Highstyle for a natural look
So with the exterior and engine bay complete, it was time for the custom interior to get some loving
The leather was gently cleaned and conditioned using Car-Chem's leather care package
The mats were removed and carpets vacuumed, shampoo'd and vacuumed again. All plastics were dusted and cleaned, followed up by all controls and interfaces being dusted and cleaned too
Before
After
With daylight fading fast and the dew point well upon us, it was time for one last outdoors shot before tucking her away for winter
Thanks for reading if you got this far!
