Does anyone work with golf courses to partner up with something like a round of golf and an express detail? If so what is your approach?

That's a great idea. Since the car won't be in use for 4-6 hours, why not have it cleaned up.

There has to be someone out there doing this.

Why would this be a target for you at a golf course ,when work can be found pretty much anywhere .

It is a perfect place to find new customers who likely have nicer cars and disposable income. Plus the timing couldn't be more perfect if they have a busy schedule.

Ive had a friend who tried that unsuccessful, retired people in south fla want a wax done for 60.00. And just could not get it to work he felt also that it was a trust thing cause the clients didn't know him.But that was him so go and try it and see what happens.

By partnering with the club the trust issue should be less of an issue. I can see Florida and vacation resorts being an issue. I have several customers who live in country club communities and many schedule a detail and head off to the course for the day. Just gotta know your market.

There you go,be positive and try it see what happens and let us know good luck.

Just be armed with a helping hand in case you run into a capacity promblem.

I thought maybe giving the manager a reduced price on an exterior in return the course can sell that they offer detailing services for their patrons while they play (by appointment only). Just thinking outside the box a little.

I build houses for a guy that owns a golf course and i also detail his cars. He has approached me about maybe doing a quick wash and vacuum but where the golf course is all they cars are caked with bugs and ppl around here expect everything for nothing. I decided it wouldn't be profitable to do it and do a good job. I take too much pride in my work to do a crappy job even if they arent paying well so i politely declined his offer and explained to him the reasoning. He understood and said if i change my mind the offer is always there. So I am going to talk to him about maybe doing a detail by appointment on saturdays at the club house. If so i will let you know how it goes just have to wait for the weather to get right.

There are 3 promblems with this, one is a capacity promblem what happens if you get 4 people who want a wash and wax and not willing to make an appointment otherwise. The second is asking the clubhouse for backing what happens if someone says you stole something or an accident occurs more than likely they won't get involved.Third is you get washes only and go home beat up and made no money.Im not being negative just telling you from experience .

First, they have no other choice but to make an appointment, second, the clubhouse is not accepting any responsibility, they are just giving the detailer access to the space to help their patrons knock out a round of golf and return to a fresh clean vehicle. Third, I don't see a reason one couldn't offer a premium service that takes 4-5 hrs to complete. If someone ask you to do their vehicle that day, just give them a card and ask them if they would like to schedule an appointment. I really don't see a difference between doing the job at someone house or the golf course. I just figured the customer will be playing 18 for 4-5 hours.

To be profitable your main objective would have to be detail only,no washes .

Detailing is a impulse decision for many,if you can't get to them now appointments will fall apart that's the society we live in quick cheap and now.

congestion in a GC parking lot could be a problem that I see a lot in Bama/Tenn.Cars/Carts/People everywhere

i worked for a mobile detail company this summer.

friday and saturday we'd go to a country club and do washes and details. we'd do anywhere from 6-16 cars.

country club had their own price sheet, made a percentage off the total.

(i dont know details, as i didnt handle that portion of things)

I did this successfully for about a year before closing down my business. In fact, I even posted here looking for some help with the work.

Charge what your work is worth, do a great job, take care of the pro shop and managements cars for free and you will do well.

I did this for an exclusive club in Orlando. Made good money. Met some great people. There should be plenty of opportunities to do this.

If you detail as a hobby it won't work. Most clubs will require insurance, tax ID, etc.

Ok. Thanks, I knew someone made it work. It just makes sense!
