More Devoted Following: BF vs Collinite?

Latest and greatest will always make your life better, right?

In all honesty though, waxing a car and the quality of products is so much better than even when I got "the bug" in the late 90s. Today's WOWO options shine better, and the polymers have really changed the game on protection.

You'd think.

I remember being a member of a Mustang club in the mid-2000s. One of our guys found Duragloss, recommended it to everyone else and people went crazy for it. Then a couple years later the same guy found Blackfire and quit using Duragloss to switch to Blackfire.

It's crazy.

The only problem ive ever had with 845 is when i applied it to my parents hummer. The paint isnt in the best condition plus it was around 30 degrees. I was to anxious to wait for the weather to warm up and my dad owes me money for doing all the windows on his 9k square foot home... So i was not about to polish the paint lol (yeah im an a$$ hole son haha) Also i applied the wax to the whole car instead of one panel at a time. I dont know if it was the cold, condition of the paint, or not doing one panel at a time but it was impossible to remove. Even when i finally got it removed it was all streaked.

As stated on a previous post on here though when i used it on my truck after a polish and warmer weather i have to say it was the best wax ive used thus far. Made my metallic pop the shine was incredible and after 2 months it still beads water like the day it was applied.

Instructions say to apply it to a panel then wait 30 seconds then buff off.
What I do it apply it to the hood and the two front fenders then buff off, after that I apply it to two panels at a time then buff it off.
Works prefect for me.
It doesn't take long to haze up.

I think the haze time is dependant on temp and humidity. I applied 845 in temps around 85 and humidity around 70% and it took quite a while to haze up.

I've actually covered the entire car, let it sit for about 30 minutes and then buffed it off. I had no issues, it came right off.

I agree with you 100%.

I too have applied Collinite to the entire car and then removed WITHOUT an issue, this goes for #845, #476 and yes, #915. I even let it sit for an entire day and had NO issue removing. I will say this was done in our underground garage w/ outside temps in the upper to mid 80's, can't remember how humid it was. I bring this up because when they say "thin is in" its amazing how long it can stay on the before removal, so if its sticky, don't sweat it, pardon the pun, LOL!

If Collinite is better than BF, it means detailing technology hasn't moved an inch in the last few decades. I use neither but just thinking out loud.

Thanks :xyxthumbs:... I'll give #845 a shot. I've always clayed them, and use Meguiars Mirror Glaze #6 followed by Meguiars Mirror Glaze #26. I have heard all the hoopla on Collinite #845 that I just wanted to see if there are any different results in using it over Meguiars.

You can't go wrong with either product.
It all depends on how much you want to spend.
You'll need to apply the BG often because it doesn't last very long but it's so easy to apply and remove, one tub will last you for a long time.

I love my Collinite #845 Aquawax as I mentioned , you get both an amazing shine that last months, like six months all for under $20.00, again one bottle will last a long time being it's important to apply it super thin, and man talk about easy to remove:dblthumb2:

I'm 100% sold on the Collinite :dblthumb2:
I give it five stars and recommend it to everyone no matter the color of your ride, it's that good folks:dblthumb2:

Nothing wrong with using what you like, no question but having used and have both product lines in my collection there's NO comparison, Collinite crushes BFWD and BF aerosol wax, period!

Not trying to be too pushy here but buy a bottle of Collinite #845 as its the "gateway" product and once you do, well, it will be over! Then you'll be looking to offload your BF products so you can put the money towards #476 and #915, trust me, been there, done that!

Thanks Klasse Act. I am going to buy the Collinite 915 because of you!!!....LOL There are only a couple of Blackfire products that I use a love...the Blackfire Wet Diamond Polymer Spray which is my go to quick detailer....that is the one I will not change. As for the wax...I have never used them. I use Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax for LSP. But the 915 price is worth trying. Thanks for your input as I am going to give that one a try

Gone through half gallon of BFWD since the new version came out. I also have BFMS, BFCS. Also gone through around 3 bottles of 845.

Even if price is no matter, doubt if I will buy BF again.
I prefer 845.

Do you apply and remove by hand? Feed back please :buffing:

I love Collinite! So traditional yet so cool and effective.

I have not used Collinite but plan to soon. I have been using BFWD. One nice thing about BFWD is the ease of use. It comes off very easy. I accidently forgot to buff the residue off my personal car yesterday on just one a-pillar. It baked in the sun all day and many hours later when I noticed it still removed just as easy. Amazing..

BFWD is a good product and easy to work with for sure, no doubt about it, just make sure you don't put on too much as removal will create a dust up, but most people here on AG know the rule "thin is in".
