Most lubricated car wash soap (2 bucket method)

You can add a shot of ONR or ONRWW to your normal sudsy soap and get the best of both worlds. ;)

This is what I do. IME you only want to add about a half oz. for 4 to 5 gallons of water. Is that about what you use??

I haven't tried a ton of different wash concentrates but have used a dozen or so different brands and Poorboy's World "Super Slick and Suds" is definitely the slickest I've tried.

What's the mix ratio on the poorboys if you don't mind me asking and is it safe for sealants and waxes?

I like the following for slickness

1- Lusso Auto Bathe
2- 1Z Exclusiv
3- DG901
4- P21s Bodywork Conditioning

There is a lot of options and good suggestions here. But I think what everyone seems to be missing is the following.

  • What else have you used? Most important to be able to compare it.
  • He doesn't want Rinseless or Waterless
  • OP - we need to know what you have used to get you a better suggestion.

I have used:
Meguairs gold class wash and wax (been using for awhile, not big on the wax part)
Mr. Pink (not really good for 2 bucket wash)
Turtle wax ice (not much lubricity)

Pretty much. I mean the 'normal' use for ONR/ONRWW for rinseless is what, 1oz per 2 gallons? I just use whatever soap I'm using at the time, 5 gallon bucket 3 gallons up (plus a rinse bucket) and drop about a capful of ONR/ONRWW in it.

I picked up some 1Z Exlusiv when it was BOGO, only had the chance to use it once but compared to Meg's GC and the Zymol stuff you can find it Wal-mart, it blew them both well out of the water.

Ok, based on that I think there are quite a few good options. It really depends on what you want and desires. Some soaps are very lubricated and are maintenance and some can strip wax. I have used many and will simply put out a list to see if or what you are interested in.

  • Dodo Juice: B2BM (Good for wax LSP)
  • Optimum Car Soap (A little tough to rinse off in my experience)
  • DG901 (Good soap that has gloss enhancers and simply works)
  • Ultima Paint Guard Wash (A great soap)
  • Meg’s HyperWash (One of my favorites) Link: Product Review: Meguiar’s D110 Hyper-Wash
  • Meg’s Shampoo Plus (Very similar to Gold Class)
  • CG Honeydew (Just an average soap) Link: Product Review: Chemical Guys HoneyDew Snow Foam
  • CG CW&G (One of the more lubricated soaps and very versatile)
  • CG CW&C (A nice maintenance soap)
  • CGMaxi-Suds II (ok maintenance soap)
  • DP Xtreme Foam (ok maintenance soap & foamer)
  • Wolfgang Auto Bathe (Average)
  • BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Conditioning Shampoo (A little better than Average)

Thanks for the time your are putting in on this subject, so Meg's hyper wash is the soap with one of the best lubricity's, if that is a word.

The two shampoos I've only used are Meg's Gold Class, and CG Citrus Wash & Gloss.

Gold Class is pretty slick for what it is, but CW&G is very slick! I also like that you can use CW&G to strip your paint as well. For maintenance washes I find that I use Gold Class when I don't plan on using a booster spray wax/sealant afterwords, and I'll use CW&G for when I plan on adding something to the paint after the wash.

I don't get why everyone praises CW&G. I used it at the proper maintenance dilution ratio and it felt grabby on my paint and not slick at all. It did sud like crazy, but was not what I expected. I'll only use it for stripping wax from now on.

For me Meg's HyperWash has a great combination of Price, Cleaning, Suds, Foaming (For Gun or Cannon), Rinses clean, good lubrication. But I will admit that there are some that don't care for it.

But I will say this CG CW&G is one of the most lubricated soaps I have used. At time when using it at stripping strength I find it to be almost to lubricated. It almost feels fake.

DG901 is also a great option.

Dr Oldz has said that Migliore Naturale Shampoo is the best he has used. I know that he has used many soaps as well and I trust his recommendation.

^This

I was disappointed as well at maintenance dilution and only use it for stripping wax.

I keep going back to plain ol' over the counter Gold Class, but am looking forward to try Hyper Wash.

Gold class is awful compared to wash and gloss ime imo

Just goes to show you shouldn't choose the products you use based solely off another persons opinion. :props:

You've already mentioned how much you like CW&G.

Good point. Although, I've been recommended some very good products on this website! I'm just glad I didn't buy the gallon size of CW&G! lol

Right. The best approach is to just buy several and try them to decide what you like.

However I am curious about what makes a soap feel lubricated. Obviously some comes from the soap but likely additives to increase shine can probably contribute.

I should have worded that a little differently. I have made decisions on product purchases before based on input from others, but not the opinion of just one person. I shouldn't buy a product based on Joe Blow's opinion, but if Joe Blow and 10 other people feel strongly about a product then I'd be more inclined to try that particular product. :)
