Most lubricated car wash soap (2 bucket method)

I have used DP Xtreme Foam and CG CW&G, both in a foam gun and the CG is by far the slicker product. Have been using DG 901 for years and have been pleased, but have not tried it in the foam gun yet.

Citrus Wash & Gloss sucks for stripping paint. Biggest let down for me. I washed a car coated with Meguiar's Gold Class carnauba plus with 4 ounces of CW&G in roughly 4 gallons of water and it was still beading during the rinse. Citrus Wash is where it's at for stripping LSP's. Just my opinion of course.

do you let your soap dwell like this?

I always wash entire car before rinsing. Why..?..because my wash (DG 901 + 1/2 oz ONR) is far less harsh on the paint in terms of water spotting than rinsing after each panel and leaving rinse water on the car for extended periods by the time you get the whole car finished.

...and it's much faster. Adding ONR is the magic but only add a tiny amount. Less is more without reducing suds.

What's the mix ratio on the poorboys if you don't mind me asking and is it safe for sealants and waxes?
I was never one to really measure out dilute-able products. I just fill the bucket with water and then add a little wash concentrate. Perhaps an ounce or so for 4 gallons of water. Some car wash solutions you can clearly see it removing LSP but PB SS&S was not one of them, seems to be pretty LSP safe.

Steve and or Pockets (Chris) over at Poorboy's World would be more than happy to discuss dilution ratios with you (or any technique for any of their products for that matter) if you give them a call on the phone. They're a couple of swell guys!!:xyxthumbs:

Dave is right on track with Poorboys supper slick & suds. 1 oz to 4 gallons. Real slick and a good cleaner that is economical.

I've used the PB shampoo and it was pretty good, but I only had a sample. I would buy more , but I have so many now. Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, here are some of my favs:

And I've heard nothing about EXCELLENT comments on this, but I haven't tried it:

This one works just fine:

However, maybe because I'm a pharmacist, I just HATE the smell of the fake cherry. It smells exactly like Azithromycin Suspension by Greenstone Labs - reminds me too much of work & sick kids.

swanicyouth,

I like your pics! I actually kinda like the DG901 smell and it is a top notch shampoo at a bargain basement price. What did you not like about the Sonus one? I have not tried that one yet so I'm curious to know. I wish I could try them all but as of now I have like 10 different kinds and enough is enough lol! Next one I am going to try is Optimum.

DG 901 with a 1/2 oz ONR added is the best wash combo I've ever used and I am a car wash nut. I've spent a small fortune on trying more brands than I care to count. I've thrown out or given all the rest away at this point.

Sonus is just average suds and lubricity. Smell is sort of like chemicals. Just doesn't stand out at anything. Dilution ratio is just average if I recall, making it no huge bargain, even though the price is rather low.

Optimum on the other hand is one of the best. One's I would like to try is the Migliore and Dodo Super Natural. However, I'm using more and more rinseless and waterless. For a rinseless, Duragloss rinseless is probably my favorite, as it just seems "more substantial" than the others. However, cost is more, as they recommend you use more per gallon, and, I always toss in a little extra. However, anyone looking to try a new rinseless should really try the Duragloss product, its very good.

I've also mixed a 3oz per 16 oz of water as a "waterless" or QD (per labeling) and this works very good as well. Right now I'm going through a gallon of ONR v3, but when its done I will replace it with Duragloss.

Gotcha. Well you may have saved me from trying sonus. I bought Optimum Shampoo and ONR V3. I will mix in an ouce of ONR with the Optimum Shampoo for extra lubrication even though I hear their shampoo has more than adaquate lubrication on its own. Finish Kare has two wash soaps that I think are pretty good but under-rated FK118 and FK1016.

Used the optimum car wash yesterday for the first time. Extremely impressed. Suds are awesome and all I did was measure three gallons and dump it onto the soap at the bottom of the bucket. It leaves an amazing shine, smelled great when mixed, and left a very high gloss on the paint. Unfortunately I got interrupted twice when washing so when I got back there were several water spots, but they came off just by spraying water out of a hose nozzle. Ordered some dura gloss 901 so ill give that a whirl next time.
