Most regretted detailing product purchase

Megs cleaner wax from O'rileys, got ripped off like 15 bucks more, also to add.

Turtle wax bug & tar remover
turtle wax cleaner wax
meguiar's ultimate paste "wax"
microfibers from autozone

turtle wax bug and tar remover is some of the best bug remover I've used. And it's at a great price point.

Why didn't you like it?

I'm a big fan of Eco touches tire shine for tire shine application as well as trim you'll get a great couple weeks with it and its water based, think mothers back to black on steroids

This is the only issue I have with Autogeek, I don't think they cull products close enough.I bought a gallon of 3M cleaner, an absolute waste of money.

Simple Green
Griot's Show Car Wax

Bobby, I buy Simple Green by the gallon and it's very good at one thing. If your like me, and do mechanical work on your car(s) from time to time, you probably are left with a collection of greasy/filthy towels when you are done. If you add 1/4 cup of SG to the washing machine (per directions on the bottle), along with your detergent, it really removes grease from nasty dirty towels. Also, you don't get the grease ring around the washer. You can add it to your wash whenever you have to wash anything filthy and it really helps.

Besides that, I think it's a decent APC (not degreaser) for cleaning up tools when I don't want to use more expensive stuff. Actually, I just picked up another gallon. It's on sale at Home Depot for $8.88 a gallon. You can dilute it 10:1 for a pretty decent APC, but it might not be the best for detailing, but it's pretty good for cleaning stuff up around the garage.

I got a bunch
AutoGlym line!:
-Super Resin Polish: I dont know what this product does.. it has 0 abrasives and its not a sealant.
-Perfect Polishing cloths: suck
-All of their wheel cleaners: shampoo and water is better
-Glass Polish: Hard to use window cleaner
-Engine bay cleaner: weak
-Bodywork shampoo: Low quality, especially for the $$$

U really don't like Autoglym non acid wheel cleaner? Find that hard to believe but YMMV. Wow, that's my go to product and in fact I consider it to be best in class. So which wheel cleaner does it for you? btw, I haven't tried any of the other autoglym products so I have no comment on their performance.

Honestly as far as wheel cleaners, CG diablo is awesome, I use it on every type of wheel, it performs better as a cleaner and is a lot cheaper, the gel consistency and awesome smell is a bonus too. For heavily soiled rim barrels, I go straight to IronX spray and even the paste. I have tried Uber cleaner by Wolfgang, sonax one and pinnacles wheel cleaner. As far as cost:product:usability ratio goes, Diablo is my favourite.

I don't like autoglym product because they are a rip off. I have a bit of the same beef with Swissvax, even though I use their products on a professional level. Majority of both companies products are generic cleaners but they charge an arm and a leg for them. For example I cannot justify paying $110 for a 16 ounce Swissvax shampoo that I know will not perform nearly as good as some of my CG shampoos. Same applies to autoglym, they are overpriced generic products.

Since we're on the subject of wheels, I would like to add AGs recessed lugnut brush/cleaner. It does not fit any of our cars. I can force it to fit but the plastic will totally scuff up the lug nut holes. Total waste of money, goes right in the trash :/

Again, don't know about their other products and I have no experience with Swissvax, but the Autoglym wheel cleaner is $38/gal delivered. Many of the other name brand wheel cleaners are more. Sorry, I'm a huge fan because it just works better then anything else I've ever tried. The CG Diablo concentrate mixed @ 4/1 would cost $34/gal. My point is simply competitive products are typically competitively priced. Personally I feel that's a fair price for a great performing product which by the way, only requires a very small amount to get the job done. I appreciate you mentioning the CG Diablo - I'll give it a try.

Really? I'm thinking about getting both of those things after the first of the year. But I may just get a 3" backing plate for the GG 6". I'm also looking at the 5.5" Hex logic pad samp w a 5" backing plate. What did you not like about them? Feed back please before a spend the cash would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've seen some comments about the GG3. Don't know from experience however.

Would you say it's a power thing with it?

Curious as I've got an order coming, ton of pads, with several new (smaller) plates, including the 3" for the GG6.

Have you used the CCS 4" pads? (That's what I've got coming for the 3" plate.)
