Most regretted detailing product purchase

I imagine he was hard pressed to evaluate the differences between the products within chemical guys line lol -- It's never stripped my wax outside of using 4x it's suggested ratio maybe I could get you a couple oz to compare

LOL.... that's a good one.

On the real though. The Gloss really does it's best on maintenance washes on a sealed/waxed car. As far as the citrus I am with you- I usually have to triple or quadruple the amt to really get the wax broken down.

When I get back stateside in December, I plan to hit AG up for some Pinnacle and Wolfgang products.... any other recommendations? I hear Optimum products are pretty good.

Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner
Pinnacle Souveran paste wax
Loads of other stuff too numerous to mention.
I found a bottle of the Lexol cleaner and conditioner for 3 bucks at a Tuesday Morning store. tried to clean my wifes purse. its pink leather. tested on the bottom. it didnt do much.

I regret buying all those hoses, spray guns, foam cannons, etc. and then discovering ONR a few years ago and never using them again, lol. Add to that my pressure washer which basically collects dust.

The only detailing products I regret would have to be HD UNO AC, and HD Speed. Neither one performed as advertised, not even close, and wasn't exactly cheap at $29.99 per bottle of each (I think they were $39.99 when I bought them). They have had many issues, from separation, bad batches, to questionable product support, and misleading claims.

I just bought the 32Oz UNO. I hope I have better luck. if not then we will see how good the vendors customer service is. You are the first one I see with a negitive on this product. Wehre did you buy from? I got mine from Autotality

citrus wash and gloss performed the same if not better at an extremely better price point for me but with anything ymmv

I won't say it's the bee's knees but I like it for my garaged car because it gets the job done. Price point yea I can see that because its a pricey cg soap which you don't see often. I just find it hard to believe that was the most regretted purchase you have ever made.

Mother's clay, it's too soft, falls apart in your hands.
It falls apart, or it squeezes apart in warm weather? Soft clay is good, because it reduces the chance of contaminants being drawn across the surface. Just keep kneading it. If the clay was too hard, the contaminants couldn't be pulled into the clay.

XMT 360. Just have not had any luck using correctly. Perhaps it's my technique...

Rupes 15 - nothing more then an over priced PC that bogs down with hardly any pressure.
Sounds familiar, like mine-at first. If you purchased the kit make sure it came with the 6" pads. Mine came with the 7" pads (21 kit size) and I had exactly the same problem. One call to AG got me the right pads. BIG difference.

A 'set' of one of each pads from chemical guys. Money would've been better spent getting 3 cutting and 3 polishing pads and maybe a finishing pad or two.

3D/HD have great customer service and will take care of you if you have any issues with their product(s). call 3D and ask for Ben and/or PM David Fermani on autopiadotorg... :dblthumb2:

Meguiar's Black Wax-dust magnet and NO durability.

The product I regret the most isn't made any more. It was called Crystal guard and was supposed to put an acrylic coat on the car. Difficult to use and poor results maybe that is why they are out of business.

The product I am disappointed with from AG is collinite 845. The reason for the disappointment is not the application, the shine, or the durability all of which are good. On my SL it provides very tight beeds on the sides in the rain which leave little dots all down the sides when they dry. I am hoping for better sheeting from PBL coating followed by sealant.

On the other side I really like a few products that others have mentioned as bad including Sonax tire cleaner which I use with the Daytona Speed Brush and FK425 which I now use as a drying agent. To each their own I guess.

Chemical Guys New Car Smell and Megs 105. Still trying to figure out how to use the 105 without dusting in seconds. I have tried spritzing with water, priming the pad with Ultimate Compound. I will next try lower speed and 3 very small drops of 105, if that doesn't work I will try another brand or give Megs UC another chance.

Try less less pressure. Make sure your pad is clean.
