Most regretted detailing product purchase

Just bought the Daytona speed brush and I cant stand how bad it slings, even while going slow.

:iagree:
Traded my Daytona Speed Brush. Too messy for me.

I hear this all the time. Slinging from the Daytona brushes is something I have never experienced. I don't know if it is the design of the wheels I clean or technique, but I would not want to be without them.

Agree.

The brushes do sling a little, but they are the only thing that conforms to all areas of the wheel barrel. When I wash a car I kind of expect to get a little dirty, after all my goal is to clean the car - I'm not going on a date with the car.

Griot's Garage Rubber Cleaner

I'm a strong fan of Griot's but I have to admit when something doesn't work and this doesn't.

Have to agree with this as well. Never had any suds or foam when I used it. Dyed water. Threw it out after using only 1/3 bottle.

I am another unsatisfied CG Glassworks user. I have liked all my CG products so i bought a gallon of it without first trying it. Will never do that again.

CG Mr. Pink bought a gallon when it was first released thinking it would be great. It by far the worst cleaning, poorest lubricity, over hyped shampoo I have ever tried. I can say the same for CG Diablo wheel cleaner. That stuff sucks.

I have been disappointed with pretty much every CG sealant. Doesn't help that I bought gallons...

Let me add Tuff shine permanent tire dressing to the list. Only lasted 3 weeks - very dissapointing.

For me it was:

- 6.5" foam pads (when I started out)
- Buff n Shine MF pads
- Buff n Shine Red/black foam pads
- Sonax Perfect Finish
- CG Wheel Guard
- CG Durafoam Contoured Large Tire Dressing Applicators

Seriously? I have had it on for months and it still looks great. Through snow, rain, salt

wow...

Yup. I had the same thought too.

Could be user error on my end with the sonax but it left smudging marks when I was doing my polish

white pad + sonax = smudge marks
white pad + m205 = no marks

Same panel, same technqiue, same machine and speed

I had to give up on it since it didn't work for me

Clearly this was applied wrong, I've had Tuf Shine on for over a year. Try again.

The tire must be completely clean and free of any old product. And if you attempted to use a cleaner other than Tuf Shine's dedicated cleaner, then you didn't get the tire completely clean.

Their tire cleaner is the BOMB, it will remove stuff that bleche white, APC, and others leave behind.

Sonax perfect finish is my favorite 1-step for all cars, that's weird. I know it leaves the paint kinda oily but nothing like a quick foam wash can't fix.

Nick suggested that it's very dependant on the rubber compound of the tires. My initial try was on Conti's but my wife's SUV has Goodyear Run Flats, so I'm going to give it one more try. For all the work it took to thoroughly clean the rubber, it was clearly not worth the effort on my car. What brand of tires do you have?
