A co-worker surprised me and brought me a box of this after we were talking about it and heard/read some good reviews about it. Very nice!

In the box is a bottle of the cleaner and s small stiff nylon brush. The cleaner is a somewhat thick gel that is clear and has a chemical almost bleach smell to it.

I decided to try it out today. The victim was my daily driver. 1997 Infiniti QX4 that has seen its' fair share of living outside in the sun...it's a bit long in the tooth, but I love it! I call her...the Q ship! LOL

I was going to apply it using my 7424XP and a cyclo stiff brush.

The trim on this awesome ride is pretty beat up and weathered/faded. I wanted to see if it could help it out any.

After (the same spot):

I was intrigued and somewhat impressed to say the least. I carried on and continued to do the rest of the rear bumper. I used a 'medium' amount of product, applied it directly to the trim and then used the PC at speed 5 to 6 and made several passes. You could see the gel start to turn a brownish-black color. I then wiped it off with a micro fiber towel. After that I did an IPA wipe down of the bumper and then wanted to apply something to it: I used Ultima.

I think it turned out great and will see how the durability/see how long it lasts looking like this and report back. I am considering Opti-coating it tomorrow and see how that turns out.

I will also be doing the rest of the trim on the Q-ship as it is all pretty hammered.

Nice review. It's a great product from Mothers.

Looks like a new bumper now Sizzle!
Thank you for the great review.

PEP Boys had it for $6 on sale.
If it ever stops raining I will be trying it out.

Since this is a surfactant-based cleaner, am I the only one here who feels uncomfortable following the directions and simply wiping this dry and then following with dressing? Unfortunately, if you rinse it off, the nice glossy black also goes away, at least IME.

Nice to hear about this product, I've ordered it and will receive this week.

If it really cleaned (not just 'hydrated' the trim), you can coat it to preserve your work (and your trim!).

Kind Regards.

It is a just a cleaner and offers no protection so you'd have to add a protectant to the trim anyway.

The Back to Black tire cleaner is to be used in much the same way. I've been cleaning the tires first then do my wash including the tires--then dress and it's worked out quite well.

Plan to do the same with the trim cleaner.

I bought some of this yesterday locally and applied it to my wifes van and though it cleaned some of the wax off the black trim on the rear bumper cover, there is still a lot left behind. I scrubbed it and let it dwell for about 15min. So far I am not impressed. I will try this on my FX this week to see how it goes.

IME, it restored my rubber trim to a natural black. It removed the faded, oxidized rubber and left me with a very nice finish that has stayed the same for over two months without any dressing on top.
Way better than any APC I've used to do the same job.

Yeah, but that's rubber. I'm thinking about hard plastic trim, as on the OP's vehicle.

I used it for the first time today. It worked very well.
