Please remember there are both coated and non-coated leathers out there.

CM8's analogy as a wax for leather is very good.

Right, but do COATED leathers need a conditioner? Or will just regular cleanings be good enough?

I'm confused because I was told the "conditioner oils" are unable to reach the leather under the coating.

The coating needs conditioning, yes.

It's not practical to make a conditioner for coated, and another for non-coated. We made one that works on both, as have most companies.

Not trying to start an sh*t storm, but the info out there is certainly contradictory. I found this whole researching this on another respected companies website:

"Dr. Jenkins explains how to tell the difference between “coated” and “naked" leather. Referring
to coated leather he states, “Such leather can be identified by the failure of a drop of water applied to its surface to be absorbed into the leather after a few minutes.”
Contrasting the ability of naked leather to absorb conditioners (and water) with coated leather, Dr. Jenkins states: “While vinyl-coated leather is care free by virtue of its protective plastic surface, it is also inaccessible for purposes of maintenance.” Meaning, of course, there is absolutely no point to using leather conditioners on plastic coated leather.
So, how should plastic coated leather be maintained? According to Dr. Jenkins, “Such leather should be maintained exactly like vinyl upholstery.

All the quotations in this newsletter are from the article entitled "Caring for Leather Upholstery" in the trade publication, "Professional Carwashing & Detailing." Dr. Herndon Jenkins, an industry authority and Technical Director of the XXXXXXX Division of Summit Industries, is the author"

What does everyone think of this ?

ihaveacamaro - Come on down to DetailFest since you're in the Swamp.

One our chemists who created and tested the product will be there. Maybe he can clarify it further for you.

swanicyouth - there are different opinions out there. An empirical answer is not possible.

Folks protect paint, rims, tires, vinyl and plastic. Why should leather, coated or not, be different?

I guess you just choose to believe who you wish.

Nice review!
I've been using their leather care fx for awhile and it's incredible - all in one leather cleaner and conditioner, so naturally I had faith in these products as well
:xyxthumbs:
I also have faith in Mothers products, they are a major part of my detail arsenal.

Very nice review man!! Very detailed and well written. The 50/50 shot says it all! I've I had leather seats, I'd be more than willing to try this product. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I hate when leather conditioners give a greasy feeling. I think that this is a great product because it doesn't do that.

PS nice graphics!!
Defenitely do check it out, and yes it does not leave a greasy residue which is a huge plus.

Great review Aaron! Looks like ill be picking some of this up :). Loved the graphics btw :xyxthumbs:
Thanks dude!!

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Good detailers stick to one brand of products, only GREAT detailers use a variety of different brands. However, I prefer American brands over others.

Well said and thank you for another great review. From start to finish well illustrated and presented.

My next project is repairing and reconditioning my leather seats. I'm looking forward to working on leather. I should document it as it doesn't seem to be all that common here. You make me want to try Mothers for the cleaning but mt plan is leatherique for conditioning and cleaning. I'm just waiting for some warmer weather.

Thank you & no problem. I was up late at night putting it together, I totally forgot to post this picture below.

Just a snapshot of how the foam looks like when pumped into a MF towel, very rich formula with a fresh scent.

Thats an excellent question. Per my review I stated that the Infusion Gel had a fresh Melon scent, but its a very slight hint. In other words the scent is so light that when I applied it, there was no evidence of that scent in my car, if that makes any sense.

I dont think Mothers intention was to make your leather or interior smell like "melon", its mostly there just for user experience IMO. Kind of like how Pinnacle Black Onyx smells like Mango, but what purpose would that serve for, your not going to be smelling your tires lol. So to answer your question, IMO the melon scent is just there for user experience.

You wont know for sure until you test it out yourself, but I dont think it will be an issue.

Thanks Aaron......I must of missed that part(hell it"s monday after all)
On the list of must haves!

Just used this product this past weekend on our 06 Infiniti g35 with wheat leather.

Honestly I was less than Impressed.

Sad to say Because I had high hopes for this product.

Though the leather in my fiance's car is far dirtier that I keep my cars. Her's is the one we travel with the dogs in so naturally it gets a bit diry from time to time.

However after a thorough vacuum . MF wipe down w/ distilled water.. I proceeded to apply 3 pumps to my MF towel and gave a rub down with a good bit of elbow grease. Then dried and repeated the process.

Cleaned it some but for the price of this cleaner / conditioner combo I feel as though my money could have been better spent.

I proceeded to use the infusion and gel and as you stated no change there as far as looks.

I then used the same process ( but with only 2 pumps at a time )on my 13 subaru outback with brown leather on the rear seats.. ( have only been set on 2 or 3 times)

Cleaned / conditioned and couldn't see a bit of difference there as they were already clean.

But just wonder how well the infusion gel worked.

Bummed.. I really wanted to like this product.

I do wonder if It might work better with a leather brush??

I think for the real dirty leather I work on I will continue to use the Leatherique combo.
But I still want to find a better cleaner for quicker leather cleans as leatherique takes quite a bit of time.. some clients won't want to wait for that lengthy of a correction.

so I'm thinking either something from leather masters or possibly Ultima Interior shampoo. Feed back please

As for my car I think I'm going to give it another light distilled water MF wipedown and coat with CarPro Cquartz Fabric&Leather Coating 100 ml. :xyxthumbs:

*anyone have any experience with this?

Aaron's leather looked pretty damn dirty, and it seemed to clean it very well.
