Moving from PC to Rotary, Flex or Makita?

David and I had a good discussion in PM and I would like to apologize for mistaking his tone as offensive. Easy to do online. I do appreciate new info and direction like anyone here so sorry for the misunderstanding. This is a very rare good natured forum and there are good people here.

Dave is a great guy, if you ever need help with an interior, I have not found anyone better with them, then him.

I guess my paint correction skills must suck because I can't get any love for anything more than being able to do interiors?

After you help me with Adam's vette I will come back on here and give you a grade for your paint correction skills.:poke:

Haha, thanks guys for all the explanations.

I understand that a DA should be able to just the same if not more then a Rotary, but I'm just looking to experiment, I won't be getting rid of my PC or anything, since it'd be great to have around regardless.

Just mainly debating between Flex or Makita, if the 'vibrating and shaking' does go away with a rotary, then it'd be much more tolerable then a PC, even with the extra 1lb or so of weight.

Dana loves the rotary and David loves the PC, you can love both like I do.

To each his own. I will use my rotary when I please and or my DA and I will not give a customers car back until it is absolutely perfect which is what Ive done since I was 19. (13 years ago) My rotary is a time saving tool for me. I get the heavy stuff with that and finish up with my DA. However you do it is fine by me but I have shaved an hour or more off my polishing time with my Rotary/Pad/ polishes and so far Im happy and so are my customers.
Whatever makes you and your customers happy. However, none of that addresses nor changes fact that your post is inaccurate on more than one account, starting with implying that if tool does not generate heat you can not correct (and in same sentence stating that DA can not generate heat), then going on to say one needs RPMs to correct, etc

... and if your experience with DAs is limited to UDM like your statement implied ...

What would the gross inaccuracies be?
Please see David's elaborate reply many posts ago and my short one few posts ago.

Cliff's Notes version:

1. You need heat to correct: Grossly Inaccurate

2. DA can not generate heat: Grossly Inaccurate

3. One needs RPMs to correct, it can not be done with OPMs: VERY Grossly Inaccurate

I challenge you to a "buff off" when you come down here!!!! :buffing: :pc7424:

I say we go at it on Adam's Vette after shotgunning a 12 pack!!!!

I'll put $$ that you'll be doing this: :surrender:

And then this: :urtheman:
Hey wait a minute how did i get in the middle of this. But i do like the idea of a buffer contest.I will supply the 12 Pack and some J.W. blue and steaks cooked to order. And even video tape the whole thing.

Since I don't drink and I did shotgun 12 beers you would win. If I don't drink then I would make you look bad and I would have to take you off one of the top detailers in FL and mix you in with some of your favorites-lol. I am coming down to to put holograms in Adams's vette so come over so you can help me get them out.
At least i know one thing what ever you put into the paint you will have no problem taking them out.I think i may have to call Todd to come down and be the referee.I may have to have a sleep over party LOL
