Mr Clean Magic Erasers?

LOL - I guess so...... must have read your response and made a similar response - exactly why I didnt read others papers in school before writing my own

I was just yanking your chain :poke:

You do know that don't you?!?!?!?

Kris are you buying a generic version of Mr. Clean? I heard good thing about them for cleaning leather seats.

Yeah, it's just a generic magic sponge. They work well on leather...but like some others mentioned, you don't want to agitate too much. Like anything else, it will remove the finish.

Kris, can u PM the link on ebay?

Kris, me too please?? Thanks. I've never used these magic eraser pads, but Renny Doyle spoke highly of them on his steamer video. Sounds like there are plenty of uses for them.

I don't necessarily have a link to them. I just go on ebay and search for magic sponges. Then I just buy the best deal for the money. They always seem to come from Japan. So expect like a week or so before they arrive. But still, WAY cheaper than buying Mr. Clean.

I use the magic erasers on extremely neglected interiors. For grime and dirt that is really caked on the steering wheel, door handles, etc they work great with limited scrubbing. I always do a test spot first before I use them. They can actually pull the coloring from leather steering wheels, etc. So, just have to be careful when using them but they do work great.

One should exercise caution when using these for detailing purposes keeping in mind that they are abrasive. I personally would never use them on leather for fear of abrading through the top coat.

Stay away from my man! :nomore:

Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN

I wish you would have Meghan change your user name. That buddha stuff ain't working for me :surrender:

OK, to all those people that say don't use it on paint: You're wrong!! I was hesitant to try it with all the warnings/paranoia over it, but fear no more. Taking a ME to your paint is like using a wet sand paper that is less than 3000 grit. Of course some paints are softer than others but it has only ever-so-lightly abraded the surface when I've tried it. If you need to polish, do not be afraid to try it. (Don't be afraid to admit it either, LOL).

Yeah, I hear you on that one man. I don't typically use them on paint. But, I'd be lying if I said I didn't. They actually work pretty well for taking off bugs or paint transfer. I've used them for both reasons in the past.

Like you said, if you're going to polish anyways...they're harmless.

Please keep in mind that the Mr Clean Magic Erasers are abrasive will ruin the surface of the material with repeated use. I'd be very careful with them and use them only as a last resort.
When Alan talks, I listen!

I know what you mean richy but when you say less than 3000 grit, I first thought of a lower number (which is more abrasive). Would you say it's like a 3500 or 4000 grit?

Yes. One one car with hard clear where I had done a touch up on, the ME wouldn't level it but 3000 grit would. That's where I made my comparison. I believe that was on the Corvette I did a few weeks ago.

Thanks Flash. You know me: I go to the beat of my own drum. If I find something that works, I do it...regardless of what others say. When I'm wrong, I admit it and warn people not to do what I tried. But, often, trying new ways of doing things is quite rewarding, and it works. I always state "IMO" if it is something obscure. I don't do this to be popular; I do it to help people. Thanks again.

That is something to be valued, especially in todays society!
