MTM Hydro Foamer Mini Review

Just wanted to let everyone know my AR Blue 383 broke today.... N-O-T surprised

2 month life span, awesome.

Very glad to hear you got it to work. I almost stepped on the AR Blue landmine as well but thanks to some reading on here and at powerwashersdirect I saw that it didn't play nice with the MTM. Opted to get the comparable Greenworks unit at Lowe's which has a standard quick connect wand with no proprietary bs connectors needed.

Once it was all said and done the MTM seemed to work just fine with my 1700 psi, 1.4gpm electric power washer and delivered a nice thick foam thanks to CG snow foam.

Again, glad you finally got to throw some foam!!:xyxthumbs:

Owba, which connector type do you use with the Greenworks unit? I have one as well and want to make sure I order the right fitting.

Thanks!

The fitting that the lance comes with works with the greenworks gun. Its the standard quick connect that a lot of gas powered washer guns come with.

I found a good place for the AR Blue Clean pressure washer...

2 months? It's still has to have warranty. At least you could get it fixed and keep it as a backup or trade it. Don't chuck it. My Karcher is still working flawlessly, I'm really surprised for $130. Its about 5 months old.

Actually the AR390 model has a standard Krazel/M22 fitting. This is the new model to replace the 383. Its better in every way. Sorry for your bad luck but contact AR Blue they have an awesome warrenty program. From what found out its hit or miss with the cheap electric pressure washers.

Hi All,

I got the AR 383 and also got the MTM Hydro thinking I should be able to foam my car.
Later I realized that I need get adaptor and Powercare Wand, which I did buy.
Now when I hook them to AR 383 and try to use, All I get from MTM hydro is a garden hose like water output and nowhere pressure in sight.
I checked with original AR 383 wands and they all see to work ok.
I guess there is nothing to check in the Powercare wand, as it is just an connector.
Now the big question is what is wrong with my MTM Hydro and why does it not foam with pressure. The output from the MTM hydro so worse that it appears to be like a small leak from garden hose....I am pretty pretty disappointed after spending so much on this stuff to wash my car.......

I already tried by adjusting the MTM hydro by turning both the knobs/controls and in vain was able to achieve anything shown in other forums where nice foam is seen.

If anyone can help with what could be wrong and what should I do would be helpful. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Sigh. AR 383. What a bunch of plastic junk waiting to break, fail, and give you blood pressure issues.

Board Meeting:

"Hey everyone, let's make a pressure washer almost entirely of plastic, and on top of that make every single item proprietary, so when those items break, they'll have to not only come to us to buy more, but THOSE items will then also break, and best of all..... they won't be able to simply hook up normal foam cannons or even extension hoses, so while they're pulling their hair out, they'll also be pulling and tugging and tripping on our pressure cord that is so short, you can wash a Civic without moving it! ALL IN AGREEMENT!?"

I'm going to write in to AR, and see if they'll let me send back my unit and upgrade to the unit above which actually HAS the proper quick-connect standard inputs.

I had contacted them last year in the summer about the wand breaking (not malfunctioning, actually breaking), they replaced it after photos, scans of my receipt, six emails, and everything but an oath and a forensic investigation. Since then I've been through two more wands, I stopped emailing AR, just because it was the same guy every time (sort of a mom and pop situation, manufactured overseas, and sold/dist by a few people I'd assume from my experiences), and when I spoke with him he seem un-enthused to say the least.

He kept trying to get me to call and call, which I did, but after a couple phone calls, I politely insisted to keep it to email - which always makes sense anyway since it keeps everything documented and organized for the benefit of the customer and the company... plus, working just over 60 hours every week, I didn't have time to eat, let alone sit back and talk about how pissed off I was at a malfunctioning worthless machine that simply had the duty to squirt water, and couldn't even do that.

Funny this got bumped. I was on their site and they have a foam cannon for their pressure washers. It looks alot like the mtm foam lance and is a direct attachment to ar units. Good price at $52 but kills it at $18 shipping. Still cheaper than ordering the adapter, foam lance, and wand. Ill probably end up getting it soon since I really want good foam. The detergent bottle that came with the unit just doesn't cut it even compared to my old foam gun
