Hello all! Figured I'd stop lurking & maybe make a few posts here & there. I've been on forums for years now & I have to say that this is probably the friendliest & most helpful one I've ever come across.

I acquired an 03 Cobra earlier this year whos paint is in horrid condition for the caliber of car. Major swirls, scratches, RIDS, water spots, & bug/bird etchings. It was keeping me awake at night & giving me nightmares when I did manage to sleep! I've never had a car that couldn't be slicked up by hand polishing, so I was a little out of my element. Luckily, one of my friends is a fellow Cobra owner & has been using autogeek for a few years & kindly turned me on to them.

Then I started reading. Then my wallet started getting lighter & shelves were filling up with products & pads & a PC 7424XP. Now, hopefully within the next couple of weeks, I can get started on the Cobra paint resurrection. She is on jackstands right now getting a new clutch & a trans rebuild. As soon as I'm done wrenching on that (I'm a former Ford tech & my primary car passion is spinning wrenches!), its time to make her look good again!

Here are a couple of pics of my current stable. The black/white one I've owned since 1999 & the C10 is a byproduct of my first automotive obsession being 67-72 GM trucks. Sadly, this is the only pic I could easily find of it & she is WAY too dirty right now to be photographed.

A new detail thread on the Cobra to follow soon, & I know I'll have questions along the way. :buffing:

Anything special going on under the hood of those stangs? Is that a 4.6 emblem on the fox body?

The 93 does indeed have a 2001 Cobra 4.6 4V under the hood. Something a little off the beaten path! That car has the mod book thrown at it.....

The 03 just has exhaust & a 3.1 pulley on the stock blower. She has 134k on the clock, so not going to get wild.

Thanks!!

Digging the SSP styled fox notch, very cool to hear it has a 4V motor in it, and you definitely picked the best color for a Terminator IMO. Sonic blue is my fave, followed by Competition Orange and Mineral grey. I happen to have a Mineral Grey 03 Terminator rag top. One of 154 made that year... like almost all cobra's it's got a little sumpthin sumpthin... nothing too drastic though

Re: Mustang nut form Central Texas checking in

Welcome, NOT a Mustang fan here but that 93 is one I like, HATE the GT's of that vintage but LOVE the little sedans with the 5.0s in them!!!! VERY COOL!

You like Mustangs? Thanks for your love of this legendary vehicle and welcome to AG! Any Mustang fan is all good in my book!

Sweet! Part of the fun of owning a Mustang is the all modding!

We're all car people, thats all that counts.

For sure; I've owned at least one Mustang of some vintage since 1997. Hard to go without performance. My livelihood also depends on Mustang enthusiasts modding, maintaining, & restoring their Mustangs!

Is yours a 2010 GT Premium? Hard to tell from the avatar!

Why yes it is. Good guess! This is my third Mustang....owned a 67' coupe in High School and then a 95' Cobra as well. I do have black rims and some bigger tires on the 10' now that differs from the pic you see. I've only modded the engine with a JLT CAI but I've modded the body a bit. I gave it a new front chin, rear diffuser and rear spoiler.

Re: Mustang nut form Central Texas checking in

3.1 upper pulley is a very safe combo and that was my first pulley I did back in 2003. I got bored in two days and went with a 2.76 lol. But nice mustangs man. I love my cobra.

My next setup, since I had almost every single combo possible except for turbo's, might be these two......

324ci boss motor
stage 2 comp cams
ported heads
keep my 2.9 whipple or go with the 4.0L whipple

second is, depending on price...
5.8L 4v shelby GT500 motor swap topped off with a 3.6 or a 4.2l kenne bell.

Oh man, that 93 sounds nice. Definitely a little of the path with that swap, don't see too many with that. Would love to see some more pics of it if possible.:)

Given the chance to do a swap in a fox body, I would probably go the 4v route like you or the coyote.

So what exactly is sumpthin sumpthin??

Oh yeah, 3.1 is a baby pulley. It currently has a 2.76, but with the miles, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Personally, I'm a fan of your last idea! The boss man just took delivery of his 2013.....& it doesn't disappoint! I would be redonkulous with a KB.

Man, If I didn't have a 10 month old & another on the way, I can assure you that a coyote 5.0 would have a residence under the hood. Still may happen, but I don't want to tax myself over it. As she sits, shes quite a bit of fun!
