Hello autogeek this is my first post. I have been reading the forums for a while but now i finally have a car worth posting. The pictures don't really show how bad the paint was. This was the worst oxidation i have seen in person which i have attempted to correct.

The car:
Black 2002 mustang; repainted single stage; horrible paint job as there was solvent pop and uneven surfaces everywhere. It was probably repainted by macco.

The process:
washed with Megs Gold class;

Wheels Megs apc and various brushes;

Clay bared with claymagic clay;

Paint cleaned with Colorx;

paint corrected with pc7424xp ultimate compound and surbuf pad
followed by m205 on a white lake country pad; and

paint sealed with optimum opti seal X2.

When the car when it arrived:

Hello autogeek this is my first post.

You picked a perfect candidate to showcase your skills!

Even though the paint was in horrible condition and not perfect by anyone's standards, you did what I call...

"Taking your car's paint to it's maximum potential"

Thank you autogeek i couldn't have done it without you. :)

One of our primary goals is to see others through to success in their garage!

Nice work and super results!

That was a "Lazarus" project.. you brought it back from the dead! :props::dblthumb2::props:

Thanks for your comments everyone i really appreciate them.:)

The before and after of the trunk is amazing. A really good job there.

Looks like it was painted with a brush. That is some amazing work sir!

First - - -- :welcome:

Second - - - Awesom turn around on the stang!:wow:

I'd love to come across a car in that bad of condition and see what can be done to bring it back to life like you did. Again, Great Job!

Looks good. I am buying an '03 in dark blue. Thankfully it is nowhere near that beat. You did a great job bringing it back. And welcome to the forum.

Wow that's awesome! Was this a friends car or a paying customer? If it was a paying customer could I ask how much you charged? I'm looking at where I should be priced at. You could PM me if you don't want it posted.

Thanks for your comments everyone. In 2 weeks hes thinking about having me do his interior witch is just as bad as the paint was so hopefully he will follow up on that and i will be able to post pics on that allso.

This was a friends car he gave me 40$. Even though it wasn't much i was glad to see the paint brought back to what it should be i did it more for the experience than
anything.
And for the look on his face haha :wow:

Yea, I bet he was surprised. It's amazing the difference some compound and polish can do.

And a gorgeous save it was!

When I initially looked at the photos I thought; we've got our work cut out for us here! A tremendous resurrection.....:props:

First off: Welcome to AG! Secondly, you say you didn't have a car worthy to post. As far that goes, my opinion is that any car you spend your time on and pour your heart and soul into is worth posting. Every job is a learning experience of some kind. As far as this job goes....outstanding work!!! You probably made the value of the car go up by at least $2000. And to think you got paid $40 for 20 hours work...$2/hr? Wow, your friend got the deal of the century!! You might suggest to him to consider Opti Coat to either prevent or at least abate the appearance of oxidation again. Again, welcome and great work!
