This was a fairly easy job. Not much to do other than remove rubber from the rear quarters. Couldn't get old shoe polish off the rubber window moldings either. It was a PITA. The car has some swirls in the paint. I couldn't get them out yesterday because of working in the bright 93 degree sunshine we had here in MA. By the time I finished the car was orange to me. Killing my eyes. Since the car was fairly clean to begin with there are no real before pics.
I basically foamed with IronX, IronX'd the wheels, Megs Gold car wash, blow dry, clayed, Megs #20 sealant and Sov. Liquid wax. I needed to break out my Meg's compound on the rear deck to get out some paint etching. I found more on the roof later in the day but I was running short on time. I used Chemical Guy's on the plastic trim. Meg's metal polish on the exhaust tips.
Interior just needed a vac. Car only has 9K miles and again was very clean.

Nice work on the ZL1.

Is that a Shelby Dodge Omni in front of the ZL1?

Yup, with about 260hp. He has a drivetrain he wants to install that has about 330hp.

Nice! I'm a sucker for a turbocharged hatchback and those things were essentially the Grand Nationals of the hot hatch world back in the day.

Too bad the rest of the car was junk.

Nice lookin work!!

The ZL1 is such a fun car to drive. It is a fantastic total package of a car that not only goes fast in a straight line, but goes fast in turns too! Most importantly, I thought the brakes were really great too! Never once did I think the car wouldn't do what I asked of it. I had a tough time giving it back!

Always respected those GLH/GLHS back in the day. There was one that I used to see around with 50EATR for a license plate. It was a great way to upset a few Mustang guys back then. They couldn't keep up with it though!

Just like the Grand National. My father had an '87 T-Top GN when it was new and I vividly remember the awesomeness of that cars power but how crappy the interior was and squeaky and rattly it was. Which says a lot about just how chintzy everything other than the engine was since I was just a kid back then and even I noticed it haha. Still wish it was in the family though but it was stolen on Christmas Day back in '88 or so.
