Wow, scary episode. I'm happy that everything worked out for you and that your memory returned for Christmas with your family.

God bless you Richy, my good friend. You're a champ! Keep us updated what they find out. You are THE man!

God Bless you all my friends! Thanks so very much for your outpouring of good wishes! It has really touched me. I spent most of the day resting and I am looking forward to getting this diagnosed so I can properly deal with it. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Have a blessed holiday everyone.

Glad you are doing better. Definitely get it checked out. A relative of mine had one of these. It never happened again and he checked out ok. Good luck and Happy Holidays.

Hey Richy, glad you made it through the scare OK ..... tough time for you & your family so prayers coming your way. Could be genetic, could be a wake-up call for life style / behavior modification but hopefully your Dr. will have a plan.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

Mike

Richy,

Please take time to see a specialist in the area that cares. Some TIA's can continue to kill off small parts of your brain over a period of time and eventually leave you quite helpless. I'm in no way saying that's what is going on with you and more than likely it's a one time event but the downside is quite bad so an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in this instance. Psychiatrists and neurologists that specialize in this area can be invaluable. Best Wishes Brother!
Mike

Thanks very much my friends. I am taking this very seriously. Hopefully I'll know more within the week.

Tonight was going to be a great night. I read to my girls and waited for them to go to sleep. The wife and I put out the gifts and had our own celebration. I then went downstairs to assemble one last gift for the girls. I came back upstairs 10 minutes later with a total memory loss. No idea of what day it was or anything. Clara called me an ambulance and I was taken to the hospital. Blood work and a CT scan showed nothing. They're thinking I had a TIA. My memory came back to me in the hospital. I will be off work for a week or 2 with tests to try to pinpoint what caused this. For now, I seem to be fine again. Bloody weird and frightening too. I'm home now and glad I didn't screw up Christmas morning for my girls.

Just said a prayer for you and your doctors. Please keep us posted

I have a joke, but am afraid it might be offensive, so I guess I will just chuckle to myself

Richy I'm so sorry to hear of your (possible) TIA. And Hazcat had some very good information there. I just sat with my mouth open reading your post, and knowing what it feels like to go through that situation. We've done it more times than I can remember with my Dad, when he was still with us. His did indeed take a little piece of him each and every time. For at least 10 years he was having them, and in the early years they didn't even know what they were, (like a TIA never entered into the discussion). Later on his CT scans looked like a map of Wisconsin's lake regions. Every little 'piece' that was missing showed up on the CT's. When you laid them out flat it looked like a lot of little 'lakes'.

By the grace of God, Dad never had any major strokes, never any real pain. Just memory loss and would come back around. Like Hazcat, I don't know and would never say that is what is happening or where you could be heading, but your story hit very close to home.

Please accept our prayers for your continued health and know that it's all good brother. :props:
